I mean... I'm not saying you're wrong re: healthy relationships, but saying you don't care except when people do X, or Y or Z kind of undermines the claim that you don't care. At the very least, I hope you don't break out your list of Unacceptable Ways to Ship when people haven't even mentioned any of those things, otherwise you're exactly the kind of person OP is talking about.

Nope. It really only comes into play for me when people are comparing fictional relationships to real life. Whatever people want to life or think in and about fiction doesn't matter to me. I just get bothered by the way that sometimes translates into real life.

I find that kind of sad for a few reasons. One, that it might be from someone very young and/or isolated who doesn't have anyone else they can ask... that's just heartbreaking. Or two, from someone who's kind of lonely/needy who wants a connection with a BNF very, very badly and this is a way of getting their attention and establishing a very personal connection.

Yeah. I wouldn't call Penn and Teller right wing on social issues, per se. Perhaps in the fiscal sense and the small government sense, I don't know. But their stance on topics like gay marriage tends to NOT to be "gay people deserve equal rights including marriage" but rather "the government should butt out of everybody's marriages, straight or otherwise". And I'm like... well, maybe they're not wrong, but it feels like a bit of ideological grandstanding that misses the point in an #AllLivesMatter kind of way.

According to google and my mother, if you iron them on a low heat (with a towel between the paper and the iron), that can remove wrinkles in paper.

Sure. But my point is that you're still doing exactly what OP is talking about. People are having a conversation about one thing, and you're breaking in to discuss a tangent that nobody's previously mentioned is all about what you personally dislike or find problematic.

Like... the purple text in the secret is pretty much what you're doing.

Haha, okay. Maybe it's *proceeds to care*? I just found it a little funny and right on the nose the way philstar22 brought up "suggesting that rape to love or whatever the trope is is a perfectly healthy relationship" and "pretend[ing] that this crap would make for a great real life relationship" when literally nobody in the secret or this thread has mentioned that they plan on doing any of that.

Unless a show is political, I can't say I've ever thought about what political party my favorite characters would be.

But I guess, Ron Swanson is conservative and I love him.

For actors, I try to avoid that knowledge.
