What are some good monster-collecting/battling games along the lines of (but not identical to) Pokemon?

Ni no Kuni, times like one billion. That game is absolutely amaaaazing, and is a monster collector, and for an actual console so the world feels bigger and more immersive. Plus it's got that lovely childhood nostalgia feel.

What do you mean by 'along the lines of' Pokemon?

If you just mean the fight/capture element, I second SMT.

If you mean the story/designs resemble Pokemon's...not so much. (Or, rather, I continue to recommend it, but warn that it's a very different feel...)

My mother bought me a large sunhat.

Everyone at work loved my brownies. People actually came to my office to tell me how much they liked them! I even overheard some people talking about them later in the day.

My sister-in-law brought over some fresh-baked cookies today and I am in heaven, especially because hers are really good.

Just gotta make sure to not eat them all too quickly.

Book order arrived in the mail.

Right now happy because I'm making the table all pretty so my parents can have a semi-V-Day date. They are at church right now and bringing home Cracker Barrel. But I'm going to eat in my room and let them have date time. I've got nice dishes out and candles. And I bought a mini strawberry shortcake for them for dessert as well as my dad's favorite oatmeal raisin cookies.
