In spite of being sick, had to go into work because I had a hearing today. So i did that and then came home and napped. I've got a hearing and two doctor's appointments tomorrow and another hearing on Thursday. Bleh. Tomorrow is going to be such a long today. I was exhausted coming home today after just being out a few hours.

Phone screen for a job in the morning, went to the library all afternoon. Pretty OK.

Went to work, did an 8-hour shift. Now I'm home and I've got 3 days off in a row starting tomorrow!

Boring Tuesday while being terrified for our workers in Nicaragua.

Suddenly got sad and cried. I have no idea why. Luckily, nobody was home and I felt a lot better after I took a nap, but it was still strange.

Went swimming, watched TV, spent too much time on the phone trying to fix a screwup w/something I ordered online

Made French toast with something the grocery store calls "English Muffin Bread," went to work, ate lunch outside (salad with blueberries!), more work, went home, ate dinner (some odd, dill-flavored dumplings from Trader Joe's, not sure I like them), had some hammock time, and washed dishes. Now I need to make tomorrow's lunch and then I'm going to watch either tonight's Drunk History or the rest of yesterday's Elementary, then go to bed.

Learned to use an electric pressure washer, and cleaned the algae of the side of Mom's house. I didn't get as soaked as I thought I would. There was a trail of water that went down my body into my left shoe, but that was the worst of it.

Applied for a number of jobs, went to a meeting for my current job and gave a fairly well received presentation, played some LoL. All in all a pretty good day.

Guys, I interviewed for my dream job (well not like crazy out there dream job, but an AMAZING job that I would enjoy, would be a huge step up the career ladder, would send me abroad to fun places on work trips, etc).

I thought it went really well but they haven't called me back and it's already been like a day omg.. I'm writing my thank-you e-mails now but they seem so cheesy and I'm too nervous to hit send.

How are you all doing with the job hunt? Or new jobs, old jobs, whatever.

Well, my part time job that may hopefully turn into full time is going really well I think.

It's exhausting and pointless. Interviews keep going well, and then I don't get jobs. Is what it is.

I've been looking for a year and a half but because I don't live in a major city, no one wants to help me move.

I just got an email today from a person (because when I get rejected I go through the support line or find the personal email and ask why), who said "I like your resume but you don't live up here and you need a bit more experience."

A) Then you don't like my resume.
B) YOU ARE AN INTERNATIONAL COMPANY - YOU DON'T INVEST IN PEOPLE? YOU DON'T RELOCATE PEOPLE? WHAT?

I am so sick of this shit. If I didn't have to wait for episode nine I absolutely would have committed suicide by now.

Dude send them. Even if they're cheesy they still show you appreciate the time they took to talk to you and that goes a lot farther than you'd think.

I've only just restarted a serious job search. Right now I'm working two unpaid internships, one is actually in the field I'm interested in, the other is somewhat adjacent to it.

I could actually use some advice. Right now, I'm looking to quit one of my unpaid internships. It's not in a field that I'm interested in, it sucks up a bit of my time and again, it's unpaid. It's especially frustrating because when I started my boss told me they'd bump me up to a paid position if my performance was good. However, I've only receive a single stipend in the past few months. How do I approach the issue of getting paid more regularly/frequently for my work? And how do I gracefully quit if it turns out my boss can't afford to pay me?

They were in the Alps today!

Butbutbut they were in the North just a couple of days ago and I know for a fact that's a whole day of driving by car, does it take so little time to cross 800km on a racing bike? Clearly my geography and my sense of mechanic things are failing me even more than I thought.
