103) Not that I think you care, but the formula for getting a wide fandom reaction to a fic generally doesn't have anything to do with how literary your story is. Fans are looking for an emotional thrill not something to ponder and analyze. Generally speaking the popularity of the pairing + the emotional impact of the situation + size of the fandom = amount of praise. Good plots, intriguing ocs, thoughtful descriptors will just make the fans you've already managed to attract happier -- it won't fetch you new ones.

113) You aren't alone -- even my gen is non-con. I just seem to have a kink for people struggling against (and submitting to) coercion.

155) A lot of people are straight with exceptions! No worries.

170) I usually can't ship a canon ship for very long. It's just... too constrained by canon -- it's already done. The story's been told. Once someone's written the inevitable between the scenes PWP, there's nothing left to be explored, and canon shippers tend not to be interested in taking pairing any kind of a novel direction.

agreed! Honestly, I didn't find Heath's Joker all that disturbing. (Perhaps I was too busy shipping him with Two-Face.) Bardem's Chigurh was far more cold-blooded and convincing.
