No, you're definitely not the only one. I, too, thought it was a great movie but it was emotionally exhausting and I do not want to see it again for quite some time simply because it's such a downer. Let me guess, you like movies that make you feel good after right? Cause I know I sure do. ;)

Chigurh was friggin' TERRIFYING. I know I'd shit my pants if he told me to flip a coin.

Too bad he and the protagonist never had their final showdown. I bet it would have been INSANE.

127: I have nothing to say about the secret itself, but... I just love OPs who give out their fanart image source. XD

140: THANK YOU FOR SAYING THAT. Seriously.

152: CANNOT UNHEAR. DAMN YOU OP. DDDDDDDDDDDDD:

103. I so feel you. I've been writing a huge epic long fic, and i think the combined reviews I've gotten for it don't add up to what I see this shitty-ass yaoi onshot PWP bullshit getting within the first hour of it being posted. I wish people would stop typing one-handed and learn to appreciate a little story.

Re: 103

(Anonymous) 2008-08-07 12:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Sometimes I feel like there's something wrong with me that I'm utterly bored with any porn fic. After a certain point, it's all the same. Just change the names and other fandom indicators, and it's so bloody SAME.

But writing and reading one-handed never gets old for some. I for one don't mind long fics with plot. But maybe if the OP writes some shorter stuff to gain a fanbase rather than having their work being one huge-ass story, it won't be so intimidating...?

[identity profile] fivil.livejournal.com 2008-08-07 07:45 am (UTC)(link)
136. Oh wow, really? That would break my heart so much. :(

SQUEE! Another LJS Secret post!!!
James Rasmussen... *sigh* if only. I suppose this would be the place for one of those "i'd hit it" comments, but I'm not clever enough to come up with a good one. Anyone know how excited I got when I realized that the jewelers that my family have gone to for ages carried the name Rasmussen? O_O

ASH. Oh hot diggity daffodil. (insert gratuitous "i'd hit it" comment here) I loved him so hard, even though he was a total asshat in the beginning. Gah... I always liked this book because, instead of going on ad nauseum about the looks of the main heroine, MaryLynette was described as brown haired, blue eyed, and tan. My teenage self found this very agreeable, because I have brown hair and blue eyes (and loooooooooove star watching!)... all I was missing was the tan. And that's easy enough to fake. BRING ON MY JACKASS VAMPIRE ALREADY. *snort*

Not long after that, I finally got my paws on a copy of The Vampire Diaries. Helloooooooooo Damon Salvatore. ^_^

Hey, at least you don't ship Spencer/older!Freddy. :/

I have a couple of friends who read this, and they're going to think that I posted this. I didn't, but oh god, I could have. I literally squealed the first time I saw it. Cillian for the fucking WIN.

THAT IS THE ONLY THEME SONG I CANNOT LISTEN TO. PERIOD. Seriously, I've never been able to listen to it, and my radio station actually PLAYED it once in the middle of the night and I immediately pulled the covers over my head.

Is that Merton? If so, your icon for the win!!

#109 - I liked Two-Face more than the Joker. I thought Heath did an awesome job, but Aaron...♥

#135 - Hear hear!

#140 - I'm sick of those people too. Way to undermine everybody else who worked hard on this movie.

#144 - 'Cause we all have different tastes. :p

#151 - ...I love you. xD

147

[identity profile] meagenimage.livejournal.com 2008-08-07 10:50 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm with you there. I'm skipping both TDK and Watchmen for the same reason. I don't mind if they *exist* or if people like them, I just have no interest in seeing either of them.

158.

[identity profile] everworld2662.livejournal.com 2008-08-07 11:54 am (UTC)(link)
158. I FUCKING LOVE YOU. SO MUCH. MARRY ME. WE CAN PRETEND THE OTHER ONE'S CILLIAN, OKAY? ♥ ♥ ♥!

154.

[identity profile] everworld2662.livejournal.com 2008-08-07 11:59 am (UTC)(link)
154. Get help. Seriously. If you can't appreciate a character who's not pure as gold, then...I have no words. Stick to your noble, heroic self-sacrificers; we'll take Light over them any day.

Oh. And please take Zac Effron too, whilst you're at it.

[identity profile] xanykaos.livejournal.com 2008-08-07 12:20 pm (UTC)(link)
122. Yeah-up. Honestly, despite being on a tight tight budget, I want to see it again just for that scene. Or, y'know, find it on youTube, but can't...*sigh* I don't even like Rachel, but still...

128. He wandered off to join Torchwood. Odds are half and half that he'll shortly be ruined. I do love Mickey, though. Better? Dunno, but his transformation is great. Hufflepuff with a gun!

130. I feel ignorant for just not getting it...

140. THANK YOU!!!

143. I like it! It's fun trying to figure out how to fit Harley into the movieverse, just because you know she can't quite be the "It's finny and funny and oh-so-delish, it's joyful an' jolly it's JOKE-ah fish!" bright and bouncy gal she is.
Plus, it'll make me feel less like a dweeb for fangirling over the Joker when there's something to seperate me, a refined comics enthusiast, from the hoards of tweenie fangirls.

144. I'm impressed that you could nearly fall asleep. Not about it being boring or whatever (as a movie, I don't think it did a good job, though most scenes individually were great)--all the yawny yawny politics in the beginning were tiresome. But that's a lot of explosions to kip through.

145. Y'know, I would've agreed until your last little bit. "That's his skin, which is not, by the way, scarred." Oh. Oh please. It's a movie. It's a different medium, reinvinting a very old, classic character in a new way. Rhaz Al'Ghul didn't have his Lazurus Pit in the first because the movies are supposed to play more realistic than camp, and it is definitely not realistic that someone's skin gets bleached chalk-white, his hair turns green, and he gets a giant smile and perfect black outlines around his eyes, whatever kind of chemicals we're using. Sorry. And at any rate, how long was the Joker around before they decided that was actually his skin and not just his look? Awhile.
If Hamill!Joker is your Joker, fine (he's mine). But don't quibble about "Wah, Heath!Joker wore makeup that's so lame!"
...
Because honestly, it made him twices as freaky. You had no idea what was going through that psycho's mind.

147. Some people like dark movies/fiction/whatever. I'm not an out-and-out fan of them. I want my stories to go as dark as they can, but to then come out of the tunnel into the sunshine. DK didn't and I'll admit, at the end of the movie, I just didn't feel...satisfied.
Granted, there are some that I actually liked a lot, like Pan's Labyrinth but I haven't been able to watch it straight through again.

158. I'm sure the guys I saw it with thought I was crazy, I went into so much fan-squee when he showed up. I had no idea they'd gotten him--I thought they'd keep the mask on and just pretend. Oh man, Dr. Crane, you made my movie!
(Not THE highlight, but definitely A highlight, and one of the happier ones).

Jeeez, I would freakin' love to see Harley in the next movie. <333

this looks fantastic, what's this????

[identity profile] jlh.livejournal.com 2008-08-07 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't understand how you're applying this. "Only Nixon could go to China" means "Only Nixon, that hard-line anti-communist old Cold Warrior, could open up US relations with a communist country." So, "Only Joss could be an anti-feminist" because Joss is on record as being a feminist? It would have applied more if like, Frank Miller had done an amazingly feminist comic all of a sudden. Same sort of out-of-nowhere left turn, same unassailability from those who would be against him.

140,

[identity profile] silvestra.livejournal.com 2008-08-07 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
AAAAHHHH all the TDK secrets! They make me all happy inside, even the negative ones. 8D

140: TOTALLY seconded. I bet TDK is the number one film on IMDb's Top 250 list for that reason, too? *Snort.*

150: Javier Bardem. <3 I have yet to see that movie.

158: Cillian Murphy is awesome. Looking forward to watching Batman Begins today after a long break. :3

166: KRATOS. <3

152, thanks for this! "Nai pi" will never sound the same again at a ball game.

106. Hedwig was the only death that made me sad. xD

140. I'm slow, and I didn't even hear he died in January until a week after I saw the movie.. which I thought ws awesome and one of the best I've seen in years lol nothing to do with just liking it cuz it's the last one he did.

154. ... because someone who was in HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL (*rolls eyes*) should play a megalomaniac serial killer. o_o Ew. Just no. That's like asking I dunno, a Jonas Brother (I don't know their names so I can pick one) to play L.

106, 111: ZOMG I know.
129: Now, that's just stupid--especially if you mean authors are using them in the actual fics and not as just dumb cutesy fan-nicknames.
133: I don't get it.
149: Oh man, it is completely awful that when I saw the names "James" and "Ash" there (even with the pictures of books in clear view, and mention of vampires) I immediately thought of the Pokemon characters instead?
152: Huh?

149

[personal profile] whisperingsteel 2008-08-07 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
No, because I did the exact same thing, and then facepalmed about it ^^;

126/137/138/165-WHOAH, lots of sex secrets. And I'd love to know who #138 did the deed with, because I have a sneaking suspicion about a certain actor being a con-slut in both senses of the word.

139-Amen Sistah, AMEN! I don't care HOW many big names (however inappropriate) get attached to the project. It will still be a TRAVESTY and should not happen.
BURY IT!
