107. I understand the RANDOM WTF SHIPPING, because it hits me in other fandoms very hard ♥ Though I don't share this particular ship (the WALL-E/EVE was too all-encompassingly cute.)

129. ....ew.

133. Oh Yahtzee. My unrequited love for you burns brighter than a thousand suns.

140. I started replying to this but then realised that my reply was a secret of my own. :(;

152. What fandom is this...? D:

154. ZEFRON WILL BE THE BEST LIGHT EVER AND I WILL KILL ANYONE WHO DISAGREES

OOFURI HIJACK LOL

Err Ookiku Furikabutte, a.k.a. Gayseball (until chapter 59).

149 - Darren Shan: WORD.

168 - I thought I was the ONLY one that saw this! (Not quite the Kevin Bacon thing, but like how Doctor Who is to Britain what Neighbours is to the Aussies) I'm not alone \o/

155, 168

[identity profile] jkpolk.livejournal.com 2008-08-06 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
155 Welcome to the spectrum. There's no reason you have to be one or the other. There are so many shades in between gay and straight.

168 Yeah I've been feeling that way lately. Especially watching Big Train from netflix, seeing a sketch in the second season (which also had Catherine Tate, but not in that sketch) between Simon Pegg and the Torchwood lady discussing Billie Piper's singing career 6 years before she starred in new who. :)

I cant bring myself to ship it in a sexual way. i ship in a bff kinda way, tho~

160. OH MY GOD. ♥
I thought I was the only one who'd ever seen that movie. D:
Or thought that about him.

Eh, come and grumble with me; I have cookies. (It's still okay to refer to Apollo as 'Lawboy Fagsgay' at every opportunity, right?)

106. I KNOW!!! That made me sadder than everyone else's deaths. :(

111. Hahaha, so do I. XD

113. Same here. Or it starts off as non-con, and the "victim" ends up wanting it at the end. I loooooove that. /don't flame, it's fiction.

129. That bugs the shit out of me, too. Unless it's done by one character who's trying to piss off another one. XD

170. Same here. There are a few exceptions, but on the whole, I don't like the canon pairings.

143

[identity profile] cliscia.livejournal.com 2008-08-06 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Harley Quinn is fucking /hot./ I agree.

148; I love this song, it's easily one of my favourite FF music tracks out of all the games. I just replayed that part the other day, I forgot just how amazing it really is. It gave me shivers the first time I saw it, and it did the exact same when I saw it the other day. It's just.. so beautiful, and unites the team in a way no other FF game has managed to do yet.

148

[identity profile] yachinami.livejournal.com 2008-08-06 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
148 - That's one of my favorite songs from the game. I really liked that scene, too. ...And I have nothing of interest or wit to add to this comment. Um. *Goes off to listen to song*

107. Oh, yay! Does this mean we're going to get gender studies meta on WALL-E in the comments? Because that would be awesome.

115. I have a soft spot for those books because Daine was exactly the heroine I wanted to be at the age I read them. I was absurdly happy when Pierce revealed that she, like myself, could not snap her fingers.

122, 137, 165. I was right; these secrets ARE getting creepier! Keep it up, guys — this is hilarious.

130. I don't get it. (And I probably wouldn't have minded the fridging so much if it hadn't come out at roughly the same as TDK, another totally awesome superhero movie marred by anti-feminist undertones. The pattern is more frustrating than the individual pieces.)

158. That WAS an awesome cameo. In a weaker movie, it would have been my favorite part too.

162. Eeeurgh. That's bad. PLEASE talk to a therapist before this escalates.

167. Agreed. Ivy (That's the heroine's name, right? It's been a while since I watched it.) kicked so much ass.

168. I don't get this either.

TooBig1. Everyone you know hates TKAM? WHAT? How is that possible? I haven't read ASP, so I can't comment on that, but... wow.

TITC3: I thought the same thing... for about three days. Then I realized all of my plans were likely to go spectacularly wrong as well, just in different ways. I ended up concluding that the Death Note was not created to be used as a force for good, and the best thing to do if one falls into your hands is to lock it up somewhere so secure that, should you decide to try it, you'll have thought better of it by the time you get it out.

148

[identity profile] raynala.livejournal.com 2008-08-06 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
That's okay. :)

[identity profile] yami-chan.livejournal.com 2008-08-06 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
136. Wait.. What? Where? Are you talking about the awful Keith Giffen Midnighter run? Or is it in the stuff Gage has been doing through the Wildstorm universe? I'm so behind on my Authority stuff (mainly 'cause most of it is awful but that's a rant for another day).

I will be so pissed if they did that. It would be STUPID! Leave them alone, DC!

136 OP

(Anonymous) 2008-08-07 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
It's a combination of Authority Prime and Number of the Beast. In Authority Prime we find out that Bendix based Midnighter on a 1940s leather chick/superhero, and in NotB we find out that the leather chick was a lesbian. Maybe I'm overreacting, but I'm worried that they're implying that that Bendix was very thorough in making his male version of her. :(

106, 158, and 165

[identity profile] rampant-chaos8.livejournal.com 2008-08-06 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
106. I agree. That was a totally useless thing to do (and, I will admit, made me the saddest of anything I read in that book).

158. "Not my diagnosis" :D

165. Hehe

Brad Swaile follows some freaky new age religion? I'd love to see him do a panel discussion on religion with Vic. LOL.

[identity profile] gaignun.livejournal.com 2008-08-06 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
105) That scene was amazing and terrible and heart-stomping.

116) [HUGS] I've never been a ... heavy shipper in RE, myself? I mean I am always about the OH THEY ARE CUTE, I SHIP IT. (esp Steve and Claire omg. ):!!) But oh man the characters and their dynamics in RE are all so amazing.

(Anonymous) 2008-08-06 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)

You do know she wrote a sequel, yeah? Castle in the Air. It doesn't focus on Howl and Sophie, but they do make major appearances, and while I feel the same way you do about Howl's Moving Castle, the sequel showed me enough of their further relationship to satisfy me.

101

(Anonymous) 2008-08-06 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
101: You are so not alone. What's weirder is that a) I'm not like this in any other fandom, and b) I still don't ship Cameron/House.

All the TDK secrets make me giggle because I *finally* saw the movie last night (:

I probably should have pointed out that I have OTPs in every other fancom apart from House. It's crazy.

Maya/Aiji? ... Perhaps.

111, 125, 128, 140

[identity profile] darsynia.livejournal.com 2008-08-06 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Firstly, I'd just like to say that my new OTP is [livejournal.com profile] fandomsecrets/The Kinsey Scale (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinsey_scale).

111 I agree. Though, I can't remember how to code it in, WOE.

125 I was interested in that too, but I'm over the age of recruitment, sadly. If you end up LIKING what you do, what does it matter where you found it initially, that's my philosophy!

128 Oh man. I really, really don't like Mickey. At all. And it has nothing to do with shipping, either. Just, ugh.

140 WTB more Earth Logic or an intervention, perhaps.

Honestly, did you just tell us you want to punch yourself in the face? Or are you responding to a secret with the same font and text color as the bottom half?

edit: and, WORD, I mean, I agree with you, it just seems like you said 'I want to punch anyone in the face who says the movie is popular because of Heath Ledger's death' and then said 'The movie is so popular because people wanted to see a dead man'

Turn up the sarcasm a little more, I guess?
Edited 2008-08-06 21:50 (UTC)

140. Yes, I was being sarcastic. Hence, the gap. Read the top in a serious voice and the bottom in a smart ass tone.

Next time I'll turn the sarcasm dial up to eleven.

149. So you're saying... Joss Whedon is establishing his credentials as an anti-feminist so he can change the musicals-about-mad-scientists industry from the inside? I liked the ending, but I don't get how Nixon going to China applies.

[identity profile] farawaylaughter.livejournal.com 2008-08-06 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
126. Heh. I don't think fangirls need any help with masturbatory fantasies involving the good Doctor.
139. Is this the herald of a flood of such secrets or an isolated incident? Time will tell.
150. YES.
