161. Well, he was a pretty prickley guy and since his books were all Biblical allegory, he probably wouldn't be too terribly pleased with seeing Peter/Edmund slash.

I don't think I've ever told anyone as much, though. Just wondered what his reaction would be. (I'd be terrified to encounter Tolkien discovering Legolas fangirls and Merry/Pippin shippers. I mean, they're good for lols and all, but...well, actually, I always figured I'd be terrified of encountering Tolkien anyway, much as I love his stuff).

Did you miss the part where Draco is bigot? And that Hermione is on the receiving end of his assholish-ness moreso than Ron and Harry? And that they both LOATHE each other? (At least until the Epilogue.)

And the memo that older man/young woman is really fucking creepy?

I just don't get it. Canon is canon is canon. Ron/Hermione has some issues but the important thing is that is WORKS!

...did you miss the part where people ship things that aren't canon, because they just like certain characters, and that not everyone has the same definition of creepy?

Personally, for me, "girl marries boy who's always making fun of her intellectual interests and political leanings" is way higher on the creepy scale than "girl marries older man, once she's long out of school and old enough to know her own mind."

And there's something hot about a guy having to overcome his bigotry because he suddenly likes the girl he hated all along (although I always read Draco as gay myself).
