104. Well, to be fair, there are fake!Americans that get it wrong. People whine about Minnie Driver and Eddie Izzard (actually, I think for the region they're in, they're fairly accurate). And of course, there's always Peri.

For the record, I heard someone say "Cheerio" just yesterday. Okay, they were old, and when that particular group of gentlemen gathers in the breakroom it always gets to "teddibly" English that I feel the need to check that we haven't been thrown back to the 1920's or something...
But then, a younger guy said it at the Sainsbury's. So...y'do. Just...not everyone.


111. I used to think that way (minus Cedric), especially with "too good for Ron." I've since changed my mind. I still think they're horrible together, I just think she's equally horrible. She's arrogant and self-righteous. She has plenty of good qualities too, don't get me wrong, it just happens that her flaws are the ones that push my buttons, and that half the time, they're not written as flaws.
But I miss back in the day when I decided that only Snape could appreciate her intellegence (or Lupin. Sirius I lumped in with the other kids). Oddly enough, for the character I can stand the least, she's the one I ship the most.

The Riddler is a loser. That's why most of us love him. It would be easier to ignore the rumour if it didn't pop up in the paper every other day (and sound so very definite).

161. Thank you. I mean, I feel a little entitled sometimes, but I do my best not to actually put it in writing and bug people with it. Because few things annoy me more than comments like "Nice pic. Draw these characters as well!" Half the time, there's not even a please, it's just a friggen command.

A-f'ing-MEN. I wouldn't even mind if it was someone from the current era--if it was a guy. Yes, the new show has had guys travel with the Doctor, but always with a woman along as well. Having him travel with JUST a guy, even for just a few episodes, would be nice.

146: Well, I don't hate him, but he doesn't do anything for me and more often than not, I think he's the reason I don't love the show. S2 Jim was (mostly) fine and I even found him adorable at times. Since then? No thanks. Pam could do better. I find it SERIOUSLY lessens my enjoyment of this show to feel this negatively towards Jim, and even more so because most people don't even seem to understand it at all.

this has been my experience. what i don't understand is how anyone can think that Jim is the ~~~PERFECT BF~~~ after what he did to Katie and Karen? he is awful. and he isn't that nice to Pam. he treated her like dirt the entirety of season 3.

181 - I agree to an extent. I would kill for some more fics on friendship and loyalty as opposed to slashing for the sake of slashing. I don't find it damning however, seeing as comraderie and brotherly love can easily slip into something more intimate in desperate times, and has throughout history, even between men who fiercely identify as straight. I think honest exploration of that in fic is laudable. But I will say that I do dislike crack!pairings and romance based on looks in this fandom particularly, seeing as there is such an emphasis on loyalty and friendship.

180. There's absolutely nothing wrong with being in the minority when it comes to loving a character everyone else hates. In my experience, it's often been fandom who's in the wrong, not the other way around (i.e., hating said character for ridiculously stupid or childish reasons).
