169: The reason I like non-canon and crack pairings is to see who CAN write it and make it work. I like writing it because its a fun challenge. I like reading it because I already KNOW whats canon. Sakura likes Sasuke, Hermoine likes Ron. Okay, I've already seen that. what HAVEN'T I seen? Thats why I read fanfiction at all, to read a different story in the same universe, not the SAME story in the same universe.

108: It must be pretty frustrating to not want any sex in your fic, since that sort of thing is very popular, but I disagree with you that it doesn't require talent. Writing a good sexscene is pretty damn difficult, and props to the writers who do it well.

108. Eh. I think it takes no creativity to write most of what gets written, but that it takes plenty of creativity to write a sex scene that furthers plot and characterization in ways that transcend "OMG THEY HAD SEX!"

I also think "Not creative enough" is an ironic criticism to level at any fanfiction.

I wrote some Aeris/Sephiroth, which is definitely in the same category as GaaSaku/Zutara/Dramione/SessKag and I became really incensed because one person left a review gushing over how well I wrote Sephiroth and then added at the end "I don't really care about Aeris, so I guess she's fine too."

That's one reason I think the Mary Sue witch hunt is dumb. Mary Sues bother me less than fans who use pairings like that as a substitute for them. At least they're honest with their indulgent fantasy...and Mary Sues are likely to be funnier than your average Hot Popular Bishie Boi/Random Female Character Used As A Self-Insert fic anyway. :>

I hadn't really thought about that, but it must suck for people who ship those pairings for BOTH characters to have to deal with the above kind of fans. It's point-missing reviews like that that bug me the most, not random flames.

I agree with you about FFX-2 not living up to it's potential, though. It could've been a lot better than it was. I think Square was just trying too hard.

I sort of agree on the "ending its suffering" thing. On one hand, I think he honestly thought he was giving it a kind release, but on the other, something in me just finds it incredibly shocking that he was missing such a vital core of humanity (lol irony) that he thought it was okay to do it. The irony of "putting it out of its misery" is deliciously ironic, though, especially when he later asks Shinji to do the same to him.

...Frick, I love the stupid Angel way too much for my own good. ;o;
