115 - Well, yeah. People also accused her of being spoiled and running selfishly away when she actually went away to find a way to END THE WAR. Eh, poor Ranka. If you defend her as a matter of principle then I suppose I like her on principle - she's not the type of character that I usually like, but with so many people hating on her, I always end up supporting her. (Mind you, I don't hate any of the other characters. Actually, most Macross F characters are pretty neutral to me, I'm in it for the crack and because it's Macross.)

Wesley Crusher FTMFW!! XD Especially once he got an official rank and everyone stopped yelling at him so much. It was like having an awesomely geeky, slightly older brother that got to hang out on the Enterprise with all the cool people. :p

108. If you'd said PWP, I might have been slightly with you there, but as you said sex, etc, of any kind, I can say this: you're completely and utterly wrong. Sex can be used as a way to get more readers interested, yeah, but there is a distinct difference between good sex scenes and bad ones, and it doesn't happen with luck. Sometimes sex is integral to the story, anyways - I've read some that are really beautifully written, obviously by a talented, creative author. Maybe you don't like shippy fics, maybe you're just more into the friendship side of things. That doesn't mean what you want is the "right" thing to want, and what other people want is "wrong." It's just different.

Are you morally opposed to sex for some reason? Not trying to be inflammatory, just honestly curious, because I used to be very religious and I sounded kind of the same way you do now. o_O If you have some personal thing against it, at least admit it, don't rationalize it by saying something that's totally untrue.

108. Only if it's shitty smut. Good smut takes about as much skill to write as a good fight scene; it's action, reasction, blocking, icharacter interaction, etc.

Also, 'het'? I don't think that word means what you think it means.

162. Me and my friends rented that movie for a Bad Movie Night, on the basis that the premise was completely ridiculous. We were sort of disappointed to discover that it was a pretty good movie, because that meant we couldn't laugh at it like we had planned to...up until the 3/4s mark, whereupon it suddenly and without warning switched froma poorly-researched version of 2001: A Space Odyssey, into Friday the Thirteenth IN SPACE. Many laughs and cries of PINDECKERRRRRR were had for the rest of the movie, culminating in the absolutely ridiculous ending that left us wondering how ashamed of themselves the science professors brought in to vet the movie were.

I'm told they have a commentary track on the DVD. I want to hear it, jsut for the pain in their voices.

ITA. I saw it in the theater, I was all ready for some sort of psychological space thing, it was great most of the way, and then it turns into a lame monster movie. Also, there's not a lot of drama to people dying when they all agree that they're willing to die to keep the physicist alive to save the planet, even the jerky computer guy.
