Why does everyone hate Ashe so much? I don't get it. I liked her BECAUSE she was a bit bossy and arrogant. She really grew and changed over the course of the game, and I admire her a lot.

What's pathetic isn't that you long for a life like that. In fact, that's the least pathetic part of this whole secret.

What is pathetic is whining about how your life is so boring and pointless, and wholly unlike a video game.

The sort of people who complain about being bored are inevitably boring. The people who complain that life is pointless are inevitably missing the point.

Where's your chance to be a hero? You have to discover that for yourself. Nobody's going to come along and hand it to you or tell you how to do it. If you want to be strong and brave, you must first be strong and brave enough to get off the fucking couch, step away from your video game fantasy-world, and engage in the vast unknown world beyond your front door, even when it scares the shit out of you and you're sure you can't possibly handle it.

If you want to have an interesting life, you have to be interesting. That means you have to be interested in something else besides complaining about how boring and pointless your life is, and wishing you lived in a video game.

Or, you could go back to using video games as a substitute for the kind of intense life experience you both crave and fear. If you're going to keep choosing that path, however, it is best not to whine about it.

127: Well I ship Balthier/Vaan, and most of fandom seems to think he's an idiot (I think they're wrong and haven't paid attention to canon), and it's not exactly a common pairing. You can't always have your preferred pairing being popular in fandom, unfortunately.
