Exactly, I read fan fiction for a specific fandom because I like the characters in tat fandom, not some new characters.

As for OC's being well-written: Yeah, some of them... a very few. But most of them are just di'kute who don't deserve to rub shoulders with the canon characters they've been created to interact with.

101: This used to be extremely the case for me, but now it only is in short bursts. Still, I absolutely get where you're coming from. And I don't think it's sad. Moreover, I think a lot more people feel this way than will admit it. Sadly, House/Cameron is never going to happen and I'm more or less getting over that one...

172: Yeah, I pretty much loved the ending. Don't want to go into all the qualifying reasons now, but it was fine. There was a lot of love involved.

OK, yes, for plot development reasons, under certain circumstances. Sex isn't always sexy.

But if it's meant to be a hot scene, you ought to be writing from your ~~heart~~ groin.

114. Man, if you're a girl born in the 1980's, you kinda did. The show honestly doesn't have the character development or fiber to stand up against anime nowadays, but if it's the first anime you're exposed too, during middle school, it was INCREDIBLE. <3

119. I was really excited about their arc finally being aired, too. I HATE the fillers... the fillers are really hurting the show's legacy... or what's left of it. D:

130. Culturally, there's a Marysue witch hunt dominating the interwebz right now. People immediately peg EVERYTHING as a Marysue, self insert fan crap. I can understand why, because most fanfics like that are AWFUL but every now and then a good one does pop up, and a character who really isn't a Marysue will be considered one. Seriously, you could write a fanfic about Jesus right now, and they'd be like 'OMG TURNZ WATER IN2 WINE OMG WUT A MARY SUE ITS CUZ U LUV WINE ISNT IT.' And at least the bad ones provide us with many lulz. :B

Exactly what I was getting at! When I hear people talking about how they watched it when they were younger and laugh about the silliness but how much they loved it I hate that I never saw it. It wasn't even a conscious choice either to skip it, I honestly never really knew about it. And now that I'm into anime as a young adult I feel a little sad that I never watched any cheesy anime shows growing up. Like I look back and laugh about being into Power Rangers but how awesome that show was and I wish I could do the same with Sailor Moon :(

Some of the comics really amuse me, I personally think the art is cute, and since I see a lot of people around with icons from S3, I think they have all reason to make icons with each strip.

You could try the MGS fandom - the series has plenty of hot guys in their thirties and above, and there's lots of fanart.
