People write fics for other people's enjoyment, not to try and get them off. I'm not ashamed about masturbation as I can do so to reading other peoples fics but when i actually write them myself, i'm almost wanking to my own ideas. Except that in the fic I'm male having gay sex and I've never done that before, nor will I ever do it in the future.

And in the fic I wrote, it was supposed to be comedy not intensely hot or sexual lol

In my experience with the fandom, at least right now, the people who actually write about the canon characters are a tiny little minority, with everybody else writing OT fic, darkfic, Pokémon POV, Mystery Dungeon fic... nobody in the Pokémon fandom believes OCs are automatically Mary-Sues. (Self-inserts really do tend to be, however, to be honest; if you can't separate yourself from your characters, you have a general problem.) Hell, half of the fandom can't stand the anime characters, much less feels inclineed to write about them.

Eh, maybe there are more anime-writers on FF.Net or something, which would skew my perception. :/ But seriously. There is no lack of OC fic in the Pokémon fandom.

179. I don’t think Irene Adler deserved Holmes’ love. His respect, sure, she deserved (and received) that, but the Holmes/Adler ship sailed far away without me. Anyway, as based on Holmes as House is, there’s still enough differences that I say he could find love. Not that I think it should be with Wilson. Not that I want it to happen at all. (leave that juicy stuff for the fanficcers)

182. I would have been pissed if Sylar kicked it for good in season one. He was too good a villain to get taken down so quickly. I fully expected him to return in season two; if a new villain had been introduced and again defeated at the end of the season, that would have been waaay formulaic and I would have stopped watching. As it is, season 2 was seriously lackluster. I’m only continuing to find out whatever’s gonna happen to Sylar. (As a villain. I’m not his fan girl.)

That's what I do too. Since I've written them myself they're already all formulated in my brain, I look at the whole thing from a way too logical point of view. I don't personally like my way of writing and generally don't feel anything from my own fics, that's why it feels strange when I got aroused thinking of it anyway.

No one's given a good answer on meta yet, so I'll try. This is mostly the conclusions I've drawn from context; anyone can feel free to correct me.

Meta generally means "self-referential." In fandom terms, it generally describes a post/discussion/what-have-you about fandom itself, rather than the actual show/book/whatever. Basically...

Meta:

"Shippers in this fandom seem to fall into two main camps, but surprisingly not the classic 'ship war' camps. No, instead..."

Not Meta:

"The motivations of [Character] have been a closely-guarded secret on the show. Based on what's been shown so far, I believe he..."

Also, less commonly, refers to fic that involves aspects of fandom rather than the show/blah blah itself. A fic with a pairing of fandomsecrets/fandom_wank would be meta.

I imagine there are broader definitions as well, but that's what I've found. Was that helpful?

What's the manga in the second 'too big' oooone? I likes the style.

It is Midnight Secretary by Tomu Oomi. It is your basic vampire/human romance, so the story is pretty typical, but the style is nice.
