I think The Good Place is a good example because they invented a scenario where it feels organic rather than shoehorned in for woke points or to meet their BBC quota. Also, it pokes fun of all of them equally and in ways unrelated to their racial backgrounds. And it compensates for having white principals by making them the most despicable of all.
Literally the most evil person on the show is a white male LOL.

What’s a skill that everyone should have?

(Anonymous) 2019-05-05 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
That you can learn in less than a day?

I can sort of see what you and some of the other anons are saying because even as a MCU fan I have observed that the last two Avengers films especially are seemingly beyond criticism. As in, anyone who says anything negative ("wait, that didn't make any sense" etc) usually gets dog piled in some circles for just not understanding genius or whatever. It does get a bit like, the films have made loads of money regardless of what this one critic thinks, why do you feel the need to defend them so hard?

Very much not against people passionately defending something they enjoy, I do that too. But sometimes it seems to come close to crossing over into something else.

I don't think I've ever observed similar behaviour with a clothing brand. I'm not sure how that would work...something like "that t-shirt is a little dull for my tastes" "YOU JUST DON'T GRASP THE COMPLEXITIES OF THE LOGO CONTRASTED WITH THE UNCONVENTIONAL STITCHING IN THE COLLAR!" ??

(Anonymous) 2019-05-05 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
And I bet those people probably exist! Like, clothing brands probably do have stans. This is the Internet, after all. But that would also... suck. Like... right?

(Anonymous) 2019-05-05 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not enjoying them together in the show, but I hope there's some good fic for the shippers.

Basic cooking techniques and how to do them safely.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-05 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm surprised at how popular this remains to be given the current fandom culture of shitting on anything that comes across as even slightly problematic.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-05 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
This is my issue, too. I think the dynamics can be interesting, but I just can't take ass-babies seriously.

One of my high school bullies tried to humiliate me in front of everyone be shouting about how I didn't have a designer label schoolbag and I'd dared to slightly touch hers with my "shitty" bag as I was setting it on the floor in the general proximity of hers.

So absolutely I can believe there will be clothing brand stans out there somewhere.

Yes...it's not impressive if a grown man can only cook eggs.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-05 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I wish I could be into this pairing. For all the incest, conflict of interests, and varying world views, they are incredibly boring. They really didn't spend enough time developing their relationship like they should have.

I died in the first season when Jason pointed out he was Filipino instead of Taiwanese like they assumed. "That's racist. Heaven is so racist!"

(Anonymous) 2019-05-05 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Every popular thing gets hype backlash, doesn't chang that Endgame, a mega sequel backed by the biggest player in the entertainment industry, will almost definitely become the highest grossing movie of all time.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-05 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Lol sorry I replied from flatview. Disregard.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-05 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
It sounds more like having ships that aren’t top/bottom dynamics entrenched in weird biology.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-05 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Absolutely. Bad characterization is made even worse when people make someone one dimensional just because they were a 'bad' person... And she's real, so there is plenty of evidence to prove she wasn't just some needless bitch.

(oddly good timing for the secret btw, since I was literally just searching her up the other day)

The Expanse
Sense8

Yeah, I really cannot understand where humanity is right now.... like no, just no.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-05 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
...so what part of this is not a normal ship, again?

How to clear a clogged drain.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-05 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I completely agree. Even more so when they try to add in fandom culture garbage, which every time tends to be so cringey...

(Anonymous) 2019-05-05 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
It is frustrating to see how often the unfavourable opinions of other people are adopted into the characterisation of powerful female figures by modern writers.

I feel bad for Anne in particular because being accused of some pretty wild things with no actual evidence led to her death.

Knowing how to do basic household chores. Like washing clothes (the instructions are basically written in the clothes and everyone with the basic ability to google stuff can find out what the more obscure looking symbols mean), cleaning the most common surfaces and the likes. "I don't know how" is a really bad excuse to not do any chores. There are detailed tutorial videos for just about everything you may need to do when it comes to chores.
