(I do recall the House fandom doing a donation drive for art, crafts, and yes, fic, in order to raise money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS to donate in honor of RSL. But that's as close as I can remember fanfic ever getting comissioned! D: It seems so odd, because there are definitely authors with the talent to successfully request payment for fic.)
