101. I tend to be pretty conservative myself (I think of myself as a right-leaning Libertarian), but I hate admitting it because I'm afraid everyone will suddenly think I'm a homophobe and a religious fundie (much like liberals get branded as socialist hippies).

But I do think the reaction to this is very amusing. C'mon, laugh at yourselves, people. WHY SO SRS and whatnot.

It sucks feeling like you're the only one of anything, and I sympathize, but considering that fandom seems to have a pretty high proportion of people who identify as GLBTQ in some way, I think the political makeup is only to be expected.

An all-around beautiful movie star happens to have a high hairline, so you're probably more attractive too? That'd be like saying Gollum must be hot because hey, Vin Diesel's bald too!
