141 - I totally agree with you there! Cowboy Bebop has one of the best dubs I've ever heard.

Plus, Spike's VA is doing the voice of Wolverine in the new X-Men cartoon. How fantastic is that?

[identity profile] haleysings.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
HE IS?!

I'm watching it, then!

I'm staying away from the fandom and just kind of enjoying the show from a distance. I loved the books, and I'm curious to see how the adaptation plays out.
But I really don't want to have to see all the Twilight fans screaming about how it "copies Twilight" because they're too retarded to know that it's based on a series that was out before Twilight was even thought up.
And yes, I'm also afraid that they'll flock to it because OMG VAMPIRES!!! and some might like it and stick around and I don't want to see that :C I'm much happier being ignorant - because then I can still enjoy it for what it is.

lol?
not all moonlight-fans watched the series, because mick was a OMG!11!!VAMPIRE!!1^

101- "Filthy liberals"? If you keep referring to people like that, I'm not surprised you're an outcast. I'm proud to be a Democrat, thanks. No opinion on the secret though I'm not surprised that a lot of fandom proclaims themselves to be liberals.

121- I love that song! And call me a dork but I totally wanted to spin in heels too.

136- Dude, he really grew up! I don't know how it happened. I mean, I'm not attracted to him but I can understand what you're saying. I really did not like Even Stevens but I saw him on Leno recently and I thought he was great!

131 - WOW, Hunter Thompson secret.

150 - OOOH. Interesting. Not sure how I feel abt that tbh.

157 - So with you, just on the phenomenon in general. They did the same (creating a relationship, then disregarding its existence) in Torchwood and I can't watch anymore.

I don't like that outfit (please use an iron next time D: ), sure, but she does have some other nice stuff. But I do agree about the cog embroidery - most of the time it looks odd and out of place.

123. ...Wow that's creepy. xD

126. No, I think Dark is pretty straight. Now SATOSHI...

141. No, you're not Wapanese. :P You just find a character attractive! I do that all the time, animated or live action, Japanese or American, whatever. It's not that big of a deal. (...Plus, it's freaking Steven Blum. That man's voice is like a god's.)

I think what makes this secret so true for me is that I hated Cally. I hated her so much. Every time she'd come on screen, I'd boo and jeer her until she left. But her downward spiral in Season 4 and her subsequent death? I cried so hard when she died. I can't watch the end of that episode anymore because I know I'll end up sobbing again.

[identity profile] shesarebelyell.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
103. Calm the fuck down. :D

105. Character wise, she really doesn't appeal to me either, but I actually like her design a lot. I find it refreshing.

128. OH GOD, YOU'RE RIGHT... Hidan is like Seifer without the support and friendship of Raijin and Fuijin to keep him sane. XD And without the religious influence, of course.

130. I'm seriously WAITING for the day when another show like Xena will premiere and we'll have a female icon to look up too like that again...

139. No one should be looked down at because they're not the nationality of their comic/anime/show/whatever's origins. It's so funny, if you told someone you didn't like animu because you're not Japanese they'd be like 'OMG U IGNANT.'

154. I have a MASSIVE, MASSIVE forehead too. XD It's okay. I think we big forehead people are always destined to have bangs, but I at least enjoy the steretype that people with very large, pronounced foreheads are typically smart. :O

105

(Anonymous) 2008-09-25 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't see how can someone like Nia's design and dislike her personality. Her design is basically one of the most indicative of character and development in the entire show and perhaps anime as whole.

159. Mm. Funny, because a few months ago, I was getting tired of pulling crap after crap off the big-boy shelves, and I toddled back to the YA section (I'm 23. Way to grow up, me) and found the Foundling Trilogy by D.M. Cornish, and felt like it was the most fun I had reading in almost a year. There's lots of good YA out there, and sometimes it's less tedious to wade through than the adult fiction section. I don't know, sometimes, when something's written for kids, there' something about it that's so refreshing, and it comes off better than things written for adults (like...I don't know, Avatar and Lost. Both good, but I know which I enjoy more).

Maybe it's more that YA that's aimed specifically at teenage girls instead of trying to just be a good story overall is sucky.

105, 139

[identity profile] kirarakim.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
105) I don't care that you dislike Nia to each their own. But to say that she didn't help Simon get over Kamina means you just don't understand what was happening in the series.

139) The problem is that people judge you for whatever you watch. It doesn't matter if you are Japanese or American. I don't think there is a rule that you have to be the same nationality of something to enjoy it.

129

[identity profile] ulf-boehnke.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I stopped watching because the Others made no sense at all. I think the big revelation at the end will be that the inmates have taken over the asylum and I don't want to see that.

[identity profile] yuliee.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
146. .... ...

You know, I might actually enjoy it. But I'm not sure I could take it as part of the canon. Just really good (if possible) fanfiction.

[identity profile] u-belong-to-me.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
147. ... Oh fuck yes. And Russia has to totally turn the tables and start drilling US's ass. Georgia gets to watch.

[identity profile] nostalgicyouth.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
... dsafasdf Oh god, now I totally want to read fic of thaaat.

110. Heh, that's pretty much what I do with Phoenix, with a few exceptions.

140. Hm. I wouldn't go so far as to say she's wearing a sack, but... eh, I don't know. It doesn't really scream 'steampunk' to me. The frilly sleeves don't add anything to the design at all.

155. For a second, I thought this was a repeat, then I remembered it was on [livejournal.com profile] aa_secret. Man, Phoenix can be a jerk sometimes, but a 'big bastard?' Were we playing the same first three Ace Attorney games? And why did you need to lie to your friends about it? If you don't like Phoenix, you don't like Phoenix. o.O

(Anonymous) 2008-09-25 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
144. When I first watched Dr. Horrible, the first thing that popped into my head was, "...Is that Adam from Heroes?"

145. That's funny, I sometimes think that people who speak English as a second language must get so confused on the internet, because hardly anyone types in complete words or sentences anymore. And so many fanfic authors are guilty of this, too.

157. I agree that never mentioning Sora again after that episode made no sense whatsoever in terms of continuity. That said, I was okay with it because that character was so unbelievably annoying that I wanted to smash her face in every time she was onscreen. Cough.

And wait...there was an emphasis on the relationship between Sora and Teyla? I vaguely remember that the Athosians and the Genii were buddy-buddy for a while, but I don't remember anything in particular about those two specific characters. Guess it must have made a real big impact, whatever it was.

Re: 144, 145, 157

[identity profile] monluztrella.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
145. Nah, not really. That's what Urban Dictionary is for. :D

What IS annoying, though, is bad grammar and typos. If I know the difference between "your" and "you're", I sure as hell expect the writers to know it too.

[identity profile] bazcat89.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
101. Of course you are. Even someone who says "filthy liberals" can see that Palin is unfit for office. And any other position of authority.
113. I love him, but according to various rumors I've heard, you may not have long to wait.
138. I love how the whole Harmony thing has become so infamous that even people who haven't read the books are familiar with the reference...
142. No waaay man. (Although I kind of don't like the idea of the Doctor shagging anyone)
150. That would be nice...although they would need to find a new explanation for every plot-hole that comes up since "the time war" wouldn't work anymore.
159. IASFM seriously, what happened to the good ol' days of Judy Blume? (although agatb is the best of what you have listed)

142

(Anonymous) 2008-09-25 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
You do know that, like, David Tennant is an actor, right?

And not a 904 year old time lord.

Right?
