What is the worst fandom you've been in?

Toss up between Star Wars and Supernatural. Both of them have been downright nasty to the real life actors, writers, directors, etc. That to me is crossing a line and is what makes a fandom genuinely terrible for me.

Glee. Far and away the nastiest, cruelest, clique-iest fandom I've ever been in, which is sort of ironic considering the source material. There were more witch hunts and doxxing incidents than I've ever seen before, there was more abuse hurled at actors and their loved ones. Ffs there are still people that think that Chris Colfer and Darren Criss are fucking in real life and throw shit at their actual significant others!

I hesitate to say I was "in" the fandom because all I ever did was read fanfic, but Sherlock fandom went pretty coo-coo-banannas there at least twice.

I've only ever been on the edges of most fandoms, but One Direction probably takes the cake. Though, I will say, some parts of Harry Potter fandom were just legitimately scary.

None of 'em, really. Weird/awful/bad stuff might have happened in fandoms i was in, but i curated my communities and friends pretty well and frankly, most of it happened somewhere else, and i only knew after the fact (sometimes by years).

Supernatural.

There are some other fandoms that are up there as far as shitty individuals in them go(looking at you nu!Trek), but that fandom was where I was actually harassed until I abandoned my first Lj blog, and tbh it's the reason I only really lurk these days while sometimes posting a fic. It put me off ever being part of a fandom group again, it's not worth it.

The American Girl one. I know there’s shittines in all my fandoms, but I manage to keep away from the craziness in most of them except the AG one. It does amuse me how the fandom can go from being bitchy towards one another to ganging up and bitching about AG when the company screws up like it did with the permapanties, bad eyes, and most recently, the abridged book scandal.

What lines / bits of dialogue have stayed with you from fanfic for whatever reason? some of my faves:

I can't remember the exact line, but I was reading a Promptis (FFXV) fic, and like... a lot of people go with the "constellation" theme for Prompto's freckles, which I'm kind of a sucker for, but they'd described the hickeys that Noct had sucked into his skin as nebulas among the constellations and I was just hhhh that is the good stuff.

“Castiel mewled in ecstatic pleasure” is permanently branded into my brain for some reason. I can’t even remember the fic, but I do remember almost snorting my coffee when I read it ‘cause “mewl” is such a weird word for an erotic scene.

Weekend Plans?

What are your weekend plans? I know some of you are lucky enough to have a three day one.

Tomorrow my sister is coming up and we are going to grill out. Sunday, I am going to try and crochet a bee. Monday I am going to relax.

I have the weekend mostly off, thankfully. Not feeling great, so I'm happy I don't have much to do, other than job applications for a few hours tomorrow. Since Avenue is closing their physical stores, my mom and I might go up to the one near us at some point tomorrow.

Other than that, catching up on sleep. Baths. Time with my kitty. Watching something, but not sure what yet. Just relaxing.

My new allergy is proving frustrating. The hives seemed to go away, but now they've popped back up. I did the blueberry testing today, but the new hives seems to rule them out. So now it seems like it is either ibuprofen or tilenol. Either way not good because I take both of those meds a lot. Tilenol in particular is one that would suck to be allergic to because it is easy on my stomach and good for my frequent headaches.
