[it's rather pathetic, since the char. development makes me want to vomit sadness at its lack.] And, of course, Tenten, least developed of the bunch, is my absolute fave. Emo boys get boring after a while--especially since we can see them in every series, just about. Variation is nice. Female characters who aren't Mary Sues and have actual personalities are nicer. I just with Kishi would pay attention to his creations once in a blue moon.

157. PAN'S LABYRINTH and THE ORPHANAGE for the motherfucking win! those films made me cry too, i loved them so much! (the orphanage also made me writhe in terror, but that's a different matter.) Requiem for a Dream is a good movie, intense and rather horrifying but it might make you cry. And Before Sunset. check that out. its a sequel, but you don't even have to see the first one to understand it at all, i didn't.

125 - I'm the same way. My brain just draws a hard line between movieverse and 616. It's just like another separate universe, you know? I'll ship it hardcore in the movies, and then ship it in a purely platonic way in the comics. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that the dynamic between the two of them is so different in each. One where Pepper's moved on from him and they've been on such a "friend" wavelength for so long that a pairing feels weird for me, and one universe where they're all they have and the unspoken UST drives me crazy.

Oh damn it all to hell... I HATE being the one to bring the wank and start a semantics war, but this is just an itch I need to scratch. Honestly, I'm really trying not to start said semantics war, I just want to know.

What do you mean by gay lifestyle? I'm a little puzzled by the wording of the secret. See, I can get it if you mean you find it annoying/insulting if people automatically assume that if someone is gay then you're going to try and be their friend - but in reality you're not so shallow that you'll pick friends based solely on their sexuality. I understand that and sympathize. Gay =/= automatically your friend, there's more to a person than that.
But the whole "gay lifestyle" use bugs me. Maybe it's because as a lesbian that whole phrasing just automatically makes my hackles rise whenever it's used. My gut reaction reading the secret was this interpretation: "People think I would like the gays in real life, but I don't. I just use them for porn." I really, really, really hope that's not what you were trying to say. :(

Also, I call myself a "faghag" sometimes. It's like reclaiming "queer." People use that word a lot to try and make someone feel bad about being the friend of someone who is gay. We're not all the stereotype of "fat girls who can't get laid so they hang around teh gheys," so my whole reaction is "so what? I am. I hag my fags. They're wonderful people. Shove off." I see nothing wrong with it.

I like yaoi, yuri, and het. Does that make me crazy, or a prude? Because apparently everyone thinks if you like yaoi you're automatically a crazy fan girl, while het likers tend to be seen as weird little prudes out of touch with their sexuality. And yuri? Seems to either be ignored or used as pervert fodder.
