Ahahaha. Clearly, under a rock.^^ Parts of lj, especially those that are familiar with Robin Hood, Doctor Who and Torchwood have been vaguely exploding with glee over Merlin. It's not the best show that you'll ever see, but the sheer joy and happiness that surrounds it and the incredible slashiness (and other assorted chemistry of all major characters) certainly make it special. Personally, no show has made me this happy and bouncy in *years* and I think we're all due some happy fluff.

I actually have no gay friends, had a few bisexual ones, but no gay friends and it's not like I won't be friends with one, it just didn't happen and I'm not going to make a friend just because he's/she's gay, that's really shallow. However, it puzzled my friends that know I like slash to the point they ask why I wasn't a "faghag" (although was never comfortable with that term because it implies you only hang with gay men because they're gay to me, that's my opinion, some people might feel different about that). If I do become friends with a gay person, it won't be over his/her sexuality and I happen to be into slash, but the person's personality and how we mesh together. Ugh, I hope I'm getting what I want to say across.

The second part, personally I don't do that, it opened a gateway to GLBT literature/movies for me, but float your boat, I guess.

132. Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, even Trigun. I dunno, I like Samurai Champloo, but at the same time, I felt it wasn't that good and the last episode was a mess. But the songs on that show were amazing though.

157. I would be surprised to find someone who didn't get teary eyed at Mufasa's death. Also the Color Purple was just heartbreaking at times. That scene with Ricky in Boyz N The Hood made me burst in tears. I find no shame to admit I cry at certain movies, it's nothing to be ashamed about.

162. Ever heard of the concept of androgyny. Honestly, I'm tired of people only associating beauty to be an exclusive female trait or something. Although that picture I can clearly tell those guys are definitely men though (can't really change facial bone features). Women are usually more senstive to it, especially in Japan where they have a LONG history of it.

Not!Fandom #1: Because she's an embarrassment to not only women, but people in the country. I'm really disappointed that McCain picked her. There were more qualified women in the Republican party who would've been a better choice. I don't care people say "Oh, it's not like she's going to be President!" but she will be Vice President, which is still an important job. With John McCain being 72 with a history with cancer, there is a realistic chance she can become President. Now there's reports that she ABUSED her powers as Governor, I'm supposed to think she's adequate for the job. Puhleeze. I'm ALL for a women prez or veep, just not her.

In TSR Zuko brought out the worst in her. He egged on her feelings of anger and revenge. All the while it was Aang who knew what she needed. And Zuko admitted that at the end of the episode. That episode to me showed how not romantically compatible Zuko and Katara are. They seem to be people who need someone to balance them and for Katara, that person seems to be Aang.

Could Zutara be passionate, fiery, and interesting. You bet. But with regards to the characters and how they are, it would end up being a chore for them to maintain and a relationship that is a chore is never healthy. They are far too volatile, far too alike to be healthy together.

I'll admit that the creators certainly did try to say that Aang's philosophy was what she needed, but more than anything, I think it was the confrontation. While I'm not saying what Zuko did in that episode was quite right, it helped her deal with her pain and anger a lot more than Aang's advice to forgive. I didn't see Zuko as egging them on, so much as he saw how much she had bottled them up and gave her an outlet. That being said, I completely understand where you're coming from!
