Okay, so, I know on some level this is ridiculous. So I sort of believe it sort of don't. But on some level my mind believes that if I imagine the worst possible outcomes for anything and am prepared for that, then I have some sort of control or at least that it is better than expecting the best and then the worst happening. Also, my brain has this feeling that knowledge is control and that the more I know the more in control of a situation I am, even if I'm not actually remotely in control at all.

I found an old leopard jasper bracelet a few days ago, and ever since I put it on I feel calmer and more motivated.

(I don't care if it's placebo or not. It works for me, so Imma keep wearing it.)

Children should be allowed to play outside in the dirt and get all messy because it helps boost their immune system and they're less likely to get sick than children who stay indoors and don't get messy.

I guess mine are more superstitions.
I believe it's a bad gesture to point at the moon. As a child in my culture we would be told that if we point at the moon our earlobes would be sliced like the shape of the moon when we slept. There was a short rhyme we're supposed to say if we do point at the moon, but I don't remember it. So I suppose I don't believe that my ears will be sliced but I never point at the moon.

I also believe that it's good luck to throw a kiss at the roof of your car when you run a yellow light.

If i hold my thumbs/cross my fingers to wish someone luck, it actually brings misfortune. Idk, shit happened too often so now I'm superstitious and don't do it anymore. Just in case.

I still can't quite let go of my childhood belief that in times of worrying about my health, if I don't go to sleep I won't die. Rationally I know death doesn't work that way but any time I feel anxious to the point all I can concentrate on is my heartbeat (which may or may not be irregular), I revert to "well, nothing will happen to me if I just stay awake!"

Think this is one of many reasons I struggle to sleep well.

That if you have a shitty or negative enough thought about someone, it will get back to them, and if they don't have enough spiritual protection (or equivalent), it will mess up their day.

Yes, yes, no need to add how cuckoo it sounds. I do think thoughts can have some kind of effect. Not in the "Bob should DIAF" and then he literally does, but more like he steps in dog shit or just has a really bad day at work.

I never put keyes on the table! Not even with something in between. If I see someone do that, I get super uncomfortable.

I've gotten over the fear of walking under ladders.

Been back into Star Wars and Doctor Who again in terms of fandom. Just avoiding the discussion places because they all devolve into terribleness and just reading fics.

Watching All Rise and Stumptown and Batwoman.

My fic writing muse seems to have come back because I'm writing my first fic in over a year. Silmarillion fandom as usual because that's my main fandom and the only one I ever write for. But not a porny fic, shockingly.

I just started reading a fan translation of a Chinese BL novel - The Scum Villain's Self-Saving System. It's about a guy who literally dies mad at a bad story ending, and is reborn into the same story with the goals of
A) make the story less of a plothole-ridden mess, and
B) don't die a horrible death.
Because he hasn't just been reborn as any random dude, no! He's Shen Qinqiu, the protagonist's abusive mentor who gets tortured to death! :)
And so he moves forward into an exciting new life of... Stress, mainly.

Saint Seiya. I haven't watched that show since I was a little kid and Netflix has the Latin American dub, which makes me super happy since that's the dub I grew up with.

Started the series Guardian 镇魂, liking it so far. It's pretty slashy.

I've been low key studying Chinese for a few months as I've watched a few Chinese TV series and am very annoyed that I can't enjoy them without translations. I also watch Korean tv but I can't with the fonetics, sounds too funny to me, so the Chinese it is.

The full moon affects people's sleep and emotional state. I know science doesn't back this up, but I still have the anecdotal evidence to prove it.
