101. Yeah, I always hate that, too. Or when they smell like something random. I also hate when they smell/taste like "something distinctly [character's name here]." Cliche as hell.

125. I don't think Haruhi is all that mean to her dad...'course, I've only seen the anime, so... Regardless, I know what you mean. My dad's kinda similar to Isshin, and I think he's awesome. It kinda annoys me that Ichigo is always so mean to him, but honestly, I pick on my dad and call him an idiot all the time. Perhaps that's just the way that family shows love. XDD;

101. WORD. WOOOORD. I love using the taste thing, personally, simply because writing with as many senses involved as possible makes me heart more. Buuuut I make it a point to have people taste like, oh, the sweets they'd just been eating, or the bitter tea they'd just been drinking. Skin tastes salty or like soap. ETCETERA. Random smells also bug me, and those somehow seem more common. Nobody has a natural vanilla aroma, thank you, or at least I'm assuming that character isn't a scented candle.

148. I love the one on bottom right, but otherwise I prefer the ones in the upper row, sorry. At least the one at right and the one in the middle. It's the shading of the hair, I think, and the eyes. On bottom row the second from right could be great if something was done about the eyes. If they were all just line art, I probably would like the bottom row more, but the shading and coloring is really important to me in finished works like these.

Call me dumb or something, but as far as I can see, all of those were drawn by people lucky enough to be able to draw. (I'm not.)

I'm sorry, I don't see a difference, and am entirely convinced that any one of the examples could be drawn by any one of the artists. (I can see stylistic differences. Style =/= quality, surely?)

And I refuse to believe that all the people saying "yeah, the first ones are sooo crap" actually think that.

I think they're just trying to sound clever.
