I've never seen the anime, but I bought the first volume of the manga at a con and read it with a friend, and when we got to the bit with the girl who, IDK, is compelled to throw herself tits- or crotch-first at random men? We tossed in the 'sell second-hand' pile and never touched it again. That shit was just way too weird :/

I have a bad habit of rewriting scenes in my mind when I read just about anything. It's a taste thing, but on more than one occasion I've gone back to reread something and get a little bit of whiplash because I remembered my version rather than the one that was actually written;;
I'll actually write out different 'in between' scenes or variations on existing scenes when I get particularly inspired.
I can't actually write a full fic to save my life, but I definitely do like writing, so it's nice to find a middle ground that way, I guess.
