I'm pretty convinced 90% of the secrets here aren't really true, and people just love eliciting responses... of any kind. Or think that saying "I ship it" to anyone sharing the same shot is somehow a stroke of genius.

And what's with the expectation that there be "fic" of everything? I am a fan of many many things, and I have neither the expectation nor the interest that there be fiction regarding it. If you really want to masturbate to [character]/[character], turn on your brain.

145 - Well, as long as YOU think it's cute, everyone else needs to STFU, right? I honestly haven't thought about it since I read it, but there are seriously people who were a lot more invested than I was, so I don't blame them for being pissed off. I don't have a HP ship, either, so it's not "he didn't end up with who I wanted him to!" It was really poorly written, and should have been left off entirely, it was that bad. Also, see

arwydd's comment. She spent the whole book writing characters one way and then took the easy way out right at the end, which cheapened the entire series for me.

By God I love him, but Rodney is a moron. I think we've seen more than once that the guy is obvious as hell and wouldn't know a good thing if it dropped lemon in his water. (Okay, maybe THEN, but that's about the only way you'll get the guy's attention!) He's blind to Sheppard's feelings, and even if he weren't, there's no way he would believe John's feelings were genuine, and even if he did, he would then probably deny and try to keep his thing with Keller - which is never going anywhere, btw (or I guess I should say, it's not going to last) - going until she realized it's a lost cause and a relationship with Rodney is never going to work out, because he's just not that emotionally invested in her. Let's face it, Rodney's socially awkward, and a women giving him the time of DAY is about enough to have him 'fall in love'. His little crush on Keller is pretty shallow, but his relationship with John isn't - just remember that.

I agree with...okay, pretty much everything here ;)

I can understand people who disliked the epilogue because the found it too saccharine/cute/cheesy, or for details it didn't include (like the careers of the characters, or changes that happened in Wizarding society). But I don't understand the vehemence of some people's hatred towards it. It's just an epilogue, not very important since the book is complete without it. And for all the cheese and such it might contain, compared to all the problems in the main part of the book, such as:

The Death Eaters taking over the ministry "in secret" so as to avoid an uprising, despite the fact that it's so blindingly obvious that there's no way that it could be considered secret.
The Trio finding out about the Horcrux destroying properties of the sword by accident.
The Trio learning the location of the cup Horcrux by accident.
The setup for Voldemort's defeat happening by accident.

I mean, the epilogue pales in comparison to all that, but a whole lot of people seem more upset by the epilogue. I just don't get it.

Well, the rest wasn't very engaging. The epilogue got a reaction out of you, at least.
