147: I'd say that Yakitate Japan fits in the same genre as Naruto and bleach, though (I haven't read the other two). Maybe you could all watch One Piece together? It's both crazy and epic.

It's not really about criticism. It's about the fact that some fans hate it because XX ended up with YY and not ZZ and stuff like that. It's about the fact that want the fans wanted didn't happen. Sure, it was horrible, but that's the ending she wanted. She could have written that in a much better way, yes, but it doesn't mean that she would write it the way fangirls want.

132:I'm sort of new to this fandom(or was re-introduced thanks to Animated), but I don't think I could read ANY Transformers romance fan fic. Not even the ones with het(if they even exist, lol). It's just... I don't know, romance in Transformers? I mean, if you do it for the lulz, that's a whole other thing, but...serious shipping? I don't know. I kinda just...stay away from that part of the fandom. Um, sorry for ranting like this, I just felt like getting it out there ^^; No offense, rest of Transformer fandom

I don't hate the epilogue because I thought everyone should be having gay sex nineteen years into the future, I thought it was overly contrived and after seven years and an epic war, absolutely nothing happened to change the socio-political structure of the wizarding world. And yes, blahblah, I know the world is her own creation and she can do what she wants with it but that doesn't mean I don't get to complain about how I didn't like it. I probably would have actually preferred Rocks Fall, Everybody Dies.

The first war lasted longer than the second one and was at least as bad, and there didn't seem to be much change after it ended, so this isn't so surprising. Secondly, the only social change I could see coming out of the second would be how the house elves and centaurs would be treated because they fought against the Death Eaters in the battle of Hogwarts, but considering that this could be dismissed as self-interest, I don't see that having much effect on how wizards view or interact with them.

Yeah, an ending where Harry ends up surrounded by his acquired family (Ron, Hermione, his Godson, and the rest of his friends), and realising that the traditional family set up isn't a prerequisite for happiness would have been nice.

I don't think the books are that heteronormative, really; it's just that the two main couples are so formulaic. At least Ron/Hermione had proper buildup; I rather liked how it played out, really, while I spent most of the sixth book suspecting Harry had been slipped a love potion (they kept mentioning love potions all the time! I thought it was a Clue!).
