102. I'm a huge Rays fan, but I don't think I could get into a fandom for them. I enjoy watching them play, enjoy throwing things when they lose, but I don't think I could do anything more than appreciate the game.

HOLY SHIT ILU! I've been trying to think of the name of this movie FOREVER & all I could ever ask anyone about was the cover, it was all I remembered! You're the best, anon!

I don't know about the OP, but I found the movie via a torrent dl. Do you know how to use torrents?

*Boggles at all the Jon hate on the first page* To each his own, I guess. Personally, I love the man.

But smug? I find him very modest. I've heard him, so many times, belittle his own knowledge and intelligence, and even (especially) the show itself. He's obviously a very intelligent man, though, and politically savvy. I remember hearing him have a pretty in-depth discourse with an expert on Middle Eastern affairs (which I find hopelessly confusing, trying to keep up with who has done what to who, and when, and how it affected relations between factions, etc), and the guy being interviewed was surprised and very impressed with Jon's understanding of it all. Maybe the OP equates smart with smug?

Maybe the OP equates smart with smug?

That wouldn't surprise me.

He's quite modest and extremely intelligent. And hot.

I'm sorry, but the amount of butthurt dripping from this secret is tangible.

Srsly, most AMVs made with WMM suck shit. I'm tired of low-quality, awkwardly cut, still-fansubbed vids flooding youtube. At least this one was mildly creative.

Re: 124 (OP)

(Anonymous) 2008-11-07 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not saying that all AMVs made on WMM are good. I know a lot suck.
I'm just saying that there are some made on WMM that are even better than that, but it seems like every AMV ever gets compared to videos that use bunches of special effects. Just because someone can't afford an expensive program to make AMVs doesn't mean they can't make a good one.

Though yes, there are a lot of sucky AMVs made with WMM mainly because it's free and people think they're cool because they have a movie maker and can download videos. But the point is, fancy effects =/= quality.

101. I still enjoy the show, but Jon's become a little too self-satisfied since the press started worshipping at the Daily Show alter

112. Hahaha, way to go!

128. She's cute, but a lot of the people on that show are either shallow versions of rednecks or Gone With the Wind imitators. The accents can be laughable.

130. Word. Hating Twilight has become the new "Vote for Pedro." It's now become lame and overdone.

146. I was really sad too. I know it's cheesy, but that radio show was one of the only happy things to look forward to in my shitty life right now. I miss Russell, Matt, and Mr. G. A lot. :(

I CAN TELL TIME BY THE MOON
I CAN TELL TIME BY THE SUN
NO MATTER HOW I MARK
THE HOURS LIGHT AND DARK
I CAN TELL YOUR TIME'S JUST BEGUN

IT IS MORNING IN YOUR LIFE
DAY IS BREAKING OH SO BRIGHT
YOU'VE BARELY MADE A START
JUST ONE BEAT OF YOUR HEART
DON'T SLEEP AWAY THE MORNING LIGHT

............lame 24-year-old is in the same bandwagon. >.>;;;

(He made me actually learn to tell time by the sun, too. I can't do it by the moon because I live in a city with tall buildings and can only SEE the moon for a few hours a night if at all. ;_; )

I actually think that's pretty cool, and nothing to be ashamed of. XP I did the same thing as a kid (sparkly self-insert), except not to Power Rangers. Instead I inserted myself into Animorphs fic, naturally giving my character all of my favorite animals as morphs. But turquoise was my favorite color, and I love ocelots, so I can empathize to an extent beyond that. ;)

Re: 112

[identity profile] bouncy-erbear.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I was an Animorph's self insert too. In fact me and a few friends ran around the playground pretending to fight the yeerks.

I could actually list off a few fandoms I inserted myself into XD

Weirdly enough, when I was explaining the premise of the MGS series to my mother, she mentioned that it sounded fairly female-oriented to her because of the character development and melodrama.

137 - I would marry that and live forever in his underwater sea cave drinking Bailey's and doing water-colours :D

146 - I'm Australian so I always woke up at 7am (it was 6am before daylight savings) to listen to the show live of a Sunday morning but in that last week I accidentally overslept. I feel like I let Russell down somehow by doing that even though I downloaded and heard the entire show later that day... :(

112. Holy Shit. This was my Christmas Eve present when I was, like, six or something. D: Every time I see it in Target I just want to buy it. (And yeah, I used to turn myself into the Purple Ranger.)

124. D: I feel similiarly. I mean, the effects are kinda cool, but the first time I saw it, I REALLY didn't like it. It's okay now, but I prefer one of the Haruhi AMVs to "Sharada."

141. Omigod. I thought my brother was just wrong. Does anybody know that Year 3000 was actually performed, much better, by Busted, like, four or five years before the Jonas Brothers were ever even heard of?

I don't call Matt or Claire on every mistake they make because, tbh, I barely even remember what they do. They kind of (really) annoy me. I try to tune them out.

Mohinder's my favourite character, always has been - since the very first episode. Sure, he's not perfect and has certainly made mistakes but I like him as a 'villain' anyway...wtf are you talking about?
Smack in the face? Yeah, right o_O

Aww, don't be sad OP. If you had what they have, you'd just be a beard for, and BFFs with, a closeted gay guy...which now that I think of it, is a lot of fun (been there, done that), so. Okay, sorry, I can see where you'd be sad.
