A couple of weeks ago I was at the drugstore and they had stuffed toys for Valentine's Day that were shaped like really cutesy food: there was an avocado, two cherries, a cupcake, and my favorite, a taco. I didn't buy it at the time, and when I went back to get one, they were all sold out, so this morning I went on a quest to find the taco, and I was successful, lol. (Mr. Taco now lives on my bed.) Then I went to my favorite tea shop and got an iced black tea and a couple of rose macarons, then went to my mani-pedi appointment. I picked a blue and white delft porcelain-inspired floral pattern with solid blue accent nails and pedicure, it looks great and I'm thrilled with it. Currently watching an MST3K rerun (The Crawling Hand). I'm making turkey chili for dinner. It's a good day.

Packing for driving to my sister's tomorrow. I've not gotten any sicker but I've not gotten any better. So, could be worse.

Nothing much. Went to the grocery store because I was nearly out of bread and vegetables, came back and made a batch of tuna salad for my lunches this week.

My friend had to cancel on our monthly outing because her daughter’s sick, so I’m a little bummed. I’m already dressed and everything. I can’t decide if I want to go out by myself or just put on my pajamas and watch some anime.

Today is the two-year anniversary of my horse Sharif's death. I'm too sick to go and leave carrots and flowers on his grave like I'd planned, so mainly I'm just sitting around trying to distract myself with varying degrees of success. My new kitty Amaya is providing a good deal of comfort, though, as are the rest of my animals, so at least there's that.

2 hearings, a job fair, just finished a conference call. Dinner is supposed to be at 7:30, it is 6 now. I think I'm going to just make a bag of popcorn and then go to bed. My migraine is still here and I"m exhausted.

I had a phone interview that turned into an interview on Monday to meet the manager! So that's really exciting.

Other than that, not a whole lot. It's my birthday tho and my roomie bought pizza and my partner bought cupcakes. <3

I've been craving bubble tea for ages, but the places nearest to me that makes them insists on including the gross sweet jelly stuff at the bottom (its been a long time since I had any, but I swear that didn't use to be a thing).

So after I'm done with my maths class I might actually try going up into the city to try my luck at finding the ones without the jelly.

Watching day two part two of the sanremo contest!! (yes, I'm going to bother you guys with this every day until it's over) I just started it, so not much has happened yet, but I'm loving this year so far!

Coronavirus

I hate that all Reddit does is critisizing China for the measures the take to contain the virus. Reddit sucks at the moment. I think China is doing great. So there's a video of the police dragging a middle aged lady into a car and then supposedly quarantine because she is sans mask. It looks bad but I think the lady is in the wrong here. The rules are for everybody.
Also Reddit always adds a political twist into discussion. Flue can hit any country and healthcare shouldn't be abiut politics. I'm just glad that the flue didn't originate somewhere in India tbh as they are notoriously bad in organizing.
It makes me revaluate my opinion about Reddit.

A friend of mine told me that a woman in Salzberg apparently 'escaped' quarantine. COME ON! This is how the zombie apocalypse starts, people.

On a lighter note, we've been getting stuff shipped to us fairly regularly (it's how we roll), and every time we get something packed with those air-inflated pillows, Chief says 'don't pop those, Corvid-19!! Chinese air!'. He doesn't believe it, of course, but I guess some people do actually think...Chinese people sit around blowing those up with a straw or something? Yeesh.

Hobbies you wish you had

What are some hobbies you wish you had or could learn? How about skills you wish you could learn or knew?



I wish I knew how to fence because I've always been interested in swords and wanted to learn how, but I'm also a klutz so it is a bad idea.

I wish I had language skills because I really want to be Spanish fluent and I'd even love to learn other languages too. But it is really difficult for me to learn another language even when I work hard at it.

A question about drinking....

In movies or on tv, you often see a person who is an alcoholic (but sober), with a bf/gf who drinks, and they're hanging out and they kiss after the person has had a drink.

Is that something that happens a lot in real life? That seems...really challenging to the person trying to stay sober.
