Uh, no. Tom Sturridge was well known in the Twilight community well before anyone had ever seen him hanging out with Rob because he was a recommended choice in the casting of Edward Cullen. He was mentioned on Stephenie Meyer's website like... over a year ago.

He's also a third generation of an acting family (his mother, aunt and grandparents are all actors) and his father is not only an actor, but a well-known director and producer. Until Rob was cast as Edward Cullen, Tom was better known as an actor.

Tom Sturridge acting in anything had publicity because of his family. Think Bridgette Fonda, because it's the same kind of situation.

I mean, fandom wasn't even what made me realize I was bisexual, I've had two girlfriends and one boyfriend... and whenever I tell someone I'm bisexual, they either assume I'm a polygamist (Have you ever been to Gaia? They assume that being bisexual means that you can have both a girlfriend and a boyfriend at the same time! I had to deal with that with my boyfriend who was of that belief.) or just pretending not to be a lesbian. ksdfha fsfj;

104. Agreed. The sudden burst of bisexuality is such a desperate grab for ratings that I almost turned off Bones all together. (Bad enough what they did to Zack. Even worse is that they are shoving Hodgins' story on the backburner. What has he done, personally, this season that didn't involve Angela in one way or another? Nothing.) What the heck are the writers doing this season?

Hijacking comment thread, because we have some sort of hivemind thing going on here.

Hodgins was one of my favorite characters, if not THE favorite character. It's painful to see him completely shoved aside...although I have to admit that I did like the impromptu session he had with Sweets. But yeah, they just dropped it after that.

Not to mention that the breakup came out of nowhere. In one episode they were fine, and then the next....they broke up. I had expected something like from Scrubs, where they got married, realized they had problems, and were estranged for most of the season. It just didn't make any sense.

Never mind the fact that he spent a lot of money on private investigators and her subsequent divorce, and then she dumped him. Not cool.
