I'll admit that usually that's not the first thing that draws me to a mecha series (it's usually the plot actually, since I'm more of a sci-fi fan), but I just can't stand fangirls who watch mecha series for the characters without giving a shit about the robots. Nah, I'm not that rabid (though I love the series). I just had to comment because, OMG BLUE BEETLE SECRET.

While my gut reaction is to say "fuck you", I'll try and be a little classier.

On what basis do you make this assumption? First of all, you can ship Sam/Gene without liking Phil Glenister or John Simm, because it wasn't LOM that got me liking them as actors. I discovered John in State of Play and didn't like Phil until Ashes to Ashes, yet I shipped Sam/Gene from the very first episode of LOM. Second of all, I promise it's not that hard to see slash in LOM - I could sit here all day naming scenes with eyebrow-raising content.

Finally, lumping ALL Sam/Gene fans into the catagory of "deluded monkeys"? Wow, way to show your maturity level. Do us all a favor and stay out of the fandom before you say something even more idiotic.

"Sudden lesbian"? Have you watched the show? Angela's been shown to be bisexual since the first season and it was referenced again a season and a half ago.

I don't think it's OOC for her to be bisexual, free spirit that she is, but I do feel like this is rather sudden and out of the blue, and a weak ploy by desperate writer's out of ideas and too lazy to write Angela/Hodgins well. (The whole tired "we can't keep people in a relationship or it'd get boring" argument always annoys me--it shows lack of creativity above all else...)

101: Right there with you. This especially annoys me when it comes out of the mouth of a Tennant or Barrowman fan, as if their fandom wasn't well over forty years old. The number of Millennials who seem to think that fandom begins and ends with their generation need to meet some of the original Trekkies and Whovians. (Not me. I may be twice their age - heck, I teach some of them - but I'm not that old yet. I have fandom friends who are, though.)

120: While I wholeheardedly agree with you, and the invisibility of real bisexuality pisses me the heck off, I have a hard time thinking that anyone getting introduced to the wonder that is Kinsey 1 is a bad thing, even if they draw all the wrong conclusions from it initially.

152: If you pronounce "yowie" slowly, you'll hear all the sounds you're looking for. The only difference is whether you mash the a and the o into a diphthong or let them be two different syllables. If English is your only fluent language, it's hard not to let them run into the "ow" diphthong.

I know what you mean, but its really the people who are like "oh I'd go gay/bi for him/her" but then are grossed out by people of that gender in real life that annoy the hell out of me. That's not bisexuality to me. I guess.

I'm not actually in the fandom, so I wouldn't know, but I'm GUESSING it's because, in French, "LA louche" means "the ladle". Lelouch -> La louche -> the ladle. I looked it up on my French dictionary 8D

134) Yea, that's just the way society is set up so that most people really don't give a shit about females or female characters, that's why female led movies are so rare, and almost all casts are majority male with a few token females with bland personalities. It's not your fault really because until we teach kids that women are people too they will dismiss female stories.

Your brain surgeon, not knowing about it, is not likely to say the Y-word at all, right? The people who say it (either way) are probably people who know it (mostly fans, like you said). So OP is bitching mostly about fans who say the name of their own fandom "wrong", probably catching some other anime-folk in the splash, but I can't see it meaning people totally outside fandom.
