Kinda bugs me, too. People learn how to pronounce Japanese place names, Japanese character names, the (probably Japanese) names of the character's mecha/mascot friend/sword/power move, etc., but they can't pronounce yaoi? O_O

Non-yaoi fans, I guess I can understand. Yaoi fans? Seriously, if you can remember the names of everything else, it'd be nice if you could at least correctly pronounce the genre(?) you (often rabidly) fangirl in.

I just ignore it when people pronounce it this way, though. I WANT to correct them, but...whatever. It's not worth the hassle. :)

:( Holy crap, are you me? I feel the exact same way when it comes to shows that either consist of all-male or all-female characters. Then I feel fine and dandy with a show even if it has one female character out of a bajillion males or vice versa. I can't quite understand why I fall into this, but there's just something I don't like about one gender dominating an entire show. Maybe I'm just applying how I experience my own world onto shows a bit too much, but I just can't get interested in anything with that sort of cast.

Just to defend Lelouch a little bit...

He had no delusion of ruling out of fear as some "despotic national tyrant". That was Schneizel's plan.

Lelouch's plan was to set the world on an equal footing and let it run its course. You can't bring everlasting peace and harmony to the world, but you can start everyone off on a common purpose and hope that it lasts for as long as possible. People aren't equal, but everyone deserves a decent shot. Everlasting peace and equality were pipe dreams, but justice (or at least fairness) (temporary as it may be) was not, and that's what Lelouch sought at the end.

Zero Requiem itself was ridiculous in its execution, but Lelouch's "hands-off" approach to the future was not.

I keep trying this, and my "fast yaoi" keeps coming up "ya-owee". When it gets really fast, it turns into "ya-wee", with this weird drop in my throat where the 'o' is supposed to be.

Personally, not buying the "just talking fast" thing, but, personally, not really caring either.
