For books, I really love LM Montgomery's The Blue Castle, Anne Bronte's The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, and Zora Neale Hurston's Their Eyes Were Watching God. Their Eyes was actually the first book I had to read for school that didn't bore the hell out of me. I also adore A Little Princess and The Secret Garden.

Most of Steinbeck’s stuff, most of Hemingway’s stuff, most of Jane Austen’s stuff, Slaughterhouse-Five, Catch 22, Moll Flanders.

I also really enjoy Ayn Rand’s novels--while acknowledging that they should NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES be used as real-world philosophy texts, ffs.

Movies: Metropolis, The Prisoner of Zenda, The Thin Man, Arsenic & Old Lace, Casablanca, The Golden Voyage of Sinbad, The Brides of Dracula, The Princess Bride, Escape to Witch Mountain

TV Shows: The Incredible Hulk (1970s), The Fugitive (1960s), Mission Impossible (1960s), The Champions (1960s), Wild Wild West (1960s), Ocean Girl (1990s), Tales of the Golden Monkey (1980s)

Books: Jules Verne (20000 Leagues, Journey to the Centre of the Earth), Alexander Dumas (Monte Christo and the Valois trilogy), Arthur Conan Doyle (mostly Holmes), Bram Stoker (Dracula), George MacDonald Fraser (The Pyrates, also Flashman to a degree)

Basically, I like swashbucklers, fantasy, sci-fi and cheese. Also more mellow episodic shows

Seeing a live performance of Carmina Burana made me a fan. I was laughing so hard tears were streaming down my face as everyone hammed it up to HAM MAXIMUM. It's SO HORNY. Even the roasting swan is somehow horny. It's MAGNIFICENT.
