I get it. The opioid epidemic is real. Drug addiction is real. But for crying out loud, pain is real too. I'm so freaking sick of doctors who just outright refuse to subscribe anything stronger than an NSAID.

Saw the ENT for my jaw today. She was okayish. Had some ideas for long-term things. But she wants to look at the root causes, like my sleep issues. She's willing to do a botox injection, but that would be in a month, because my insurance will want a CT scan first. Meanwhile, she says she simply doesn't do muscle relaxants or painkillers. She was only willing to prescribe me some kind of NSAID I hadn't tried before. NSAIDs are not nearly strong enough for this pain.

I'm definitely feeling the effects of not having a strengthened core this last year, especially as I get older. Covid can eat shit, and so can sedentary lifestyles and desk jobs. If I don't do something soon, I wouldn't be surprised if some kind of surgery ended up being on the plate sometime down the road. Even sooner if this pandemic doesn't end and I don't watch myself.

Fuck you for taking over most of the Walgreen's spaces but not offering their service of helping those of us who can't afford cars by making it so we can put money on our electronic cards.
Fuck you for putting heating pads on shelves on your floor so people with back and leg injuries have to go down on our knees to get them.
Fuck you for hiring people who think I mean diarrhea meds when I ask for stuff to get the oil out of my skin.
Fuck you for hiring people who, when I ask for an eyeshadow set that isn't 90% brown, bring me one that is and then deny it. I'm looking right at them, I can see they're fucking brown.
Fuck you for your six feet long receipts. The trees should not be killed just so you can give me coupons for shit I never buy.
and lastly, fuck you for discontinuing your almond, cashew, macadamia and pecan blend that was super yummy and that NO OTHER NUT COMPANY I COULD FIND MAKES.

So I got a permanent, written citation on my work file because I was emailing a friend on my work email to ask if they were having a snow day and it accidentially got cc'd to the head of hr. How? I don't know. The email addresses don't have anything in common.

Okay, cool, fine. I screwed up. I'll accept that slap on my wrist.

But now I get me-specific rules which mean I'm not allowed to send anything to anyone that's not work related and I'm not allowed to use my work computer for anything other than work (even though before this we were allowed to use them for personal browsing at lunch/on breaks) and I'm not even allowed to sit at my desk at lunch on my OWN devices.

It's covid! Our lunch room can only hold 10 people in it right now. We're a workspace of over 200! where am I supposed to sit? Everything is closed?

And, y'all, I admit it, I'm super pissed because my direct supervisor sells fucking Avon through her work emails but I got in this much shit because I emailed a friend asking about if they had a snow day.

I just. I don't want to look for a new job. But I feel like I really ought to and I resent that too.

Ugh, fuck IBS. I have a routine colonoscopy scheduled in a couple of weeks and hopefully it'll be better by then. But in the mean time, it's diarrhea, cha-cha-cha. I tried a sitz bath today and it helped a little, but I still have abdominal and back pain, plus my stupid overactive imagination keeps playing the what if game with me and it's just so exhausting.

only a small vent after having read your pain issues:
i had the worst fucking migraine that i had in years and went to the doc, who sent me to the ER for imaging.
I didn't get any imaging done, but good (!) iv meds in a proper dose, so i was able to leave a few hours later. everyone was nice and chill, even with covid being present.

they asked if i were pregnant, i told them no chance in hell, and they tested for it anyway.

Spring's starting to arrive here, and Autumn is on its way in the Southern hemisphere. What are your favourite things about those seasons? :)

Autumn is hands down my favorite season. I love autumn up north best, though. Because my favorite part of it is the changing of the leaves. Second favorite part is Halloween. third favorite thing is the cool weather. Fourth is the colors of Autumn. Really I just love everything about autumn.

I guess my favorite part of spring is the coolness. But spring is allergy season, so it is not my favorite season.

Spring, I love the lengthening days, the flowers coming up through the snow. Just makes me feel like life is creeping back into the world.

I hate spring, but at least it's a little warmer than winter, and it means summer is getting closer. (Keep in mind, spring where I live is usually two months of cold and rain, and one more month of something actually resembling what spring is made out to be).

My favorite things about autumn are Halloween, colorful leaves, and PSLs. I feel like if I lived somewhere warmer and drier I'd really love autumn. Like, if I lived somewhere where I didn't need a jacket in September, and only needed a light jacket in October, and it was dry enough that the leaves stayed crispy, that would be wonderful.

My sinuses let me know that spring has arrived. BUT. But, I'm getting a new tiered raised garden built to replace the one that finally rotted and is now a pile of splinters, so that means this spring is VEGEPALOOZA. Buttercrunch lettuce eaten within an hour of being picked? YESSSSSSSS HNGNGGGNGNGNGNNGG

Spring - everything waking up, flowers getting ready to bloom, gardening where possible. (Usually we had tolerable temperatures but climate change is no joke so we seem to have been getting near summer temps these last couple of years)

Autumn - everything cooling down, foliage colors and smell, Halloween and Thanksgiving and pumpkin spice (fight me!)

Soon, my house and skin will become less dry. ;_; I can't wait.

Spring: probably my favorite season. It means daffodils, peonies, birds singing. Warmer weather and longer, sunny days. Morel mushrooms! It's nice enough to sit outside on my patio, or sit outside at restaurants. Also my birthday is March 20, the first day of spring.

Autumn: the end of hot weather and the start of the rainy season in NorCal. Cool evenings and the smell of wood smoke in the air. Pears and pumpkins are ripe. New seasons of TV shows usually start. Frosty mornings are excellent running weather.

Spring: I love seeing things start to turn green and bloom and grow when I go outside! I love rainy days, especially the ones where we get streaks of sunlight through the rain! It always feels special in spring more than any other season.

Fall: Halloween is here so we can eat pumpkin flavored stuff (I'm here for pumpkin pie and pumpkin pie ice cream) and we can eat candy while watching scary movies/psychological thrillers. I also love Thanksgiving.

I love how the trees gradually get greener and leafier in spring and how the redbuds in the yard just explode with bright pink blossoms. I love how the days get longer and warmer and every week it seems like there's something else growing.

In autumn, I love the cooler weather after a hot, humid summer and how all the big oak trees along our street drop tons of acorns.
