I've read a lot of Mark Twain, and to be honest this portrayal also annoyed the hell out of me, as did the acting. He was so unpleasant!

The thing that bugs me is that jealousy in male characters tends to more often be cast as a sexy thing than it is in female characters. I mean, definitely unhealthy in any case, but the double standard bugs me.

It's annoying to me because I don't like jealousy at all but I do like a lot of allied tropes so I run into jealousy more than I'd like

I LOVE jealousy as a trope, but I only love it when the jealous character doesn’t behave badly over it. I love the pining and the insecurity and the abandonment issues and the stoicism and the selflessness. I love when the jealous character is like, “Welp, this feels like it’s killing me, but if [other person] is what makes the person I love happy then damn it I’m going to be supportive.”

I love jealousy as this private, strangling thing a person grapples with in secret. When they start making their jealousy other people’s problem, it quickly becomes a trope I hate.

I @#$%ing HATE ARK.

My hubby plays it. It is clunky, frustrating and boggling how the system gets bogged down by the slightest thing...and the bugs are 1,001 Unfixable Messes. As in they won't fix them. But please give them money with their even shittier DLC so they can continue to make Ark Two: Vin Diesel Flexing. I love Vin Diesel. But I do not think I would love Vin Diesel in Ark.

Then again, I'm not keen on games where (if you join a server) EVERY HUMAN IS CREEPY AND/OR TERRIBLE...except for the random Benevolent Player. Who can still kill you if they wish. It is bad enough you get eaten by every random dino every five feet you move...but now, with more Humans!

ARRGGH.

Did I mention that I @#$%ing HATE Ark?
