Re: What’s happening, FS?

Maybe just tag it "major character death" (or the similar tag, i forget the tag name, but I've seen it before) then you can add the extra tag of (Not MC death), and if it's an in canon death, "canonical death"? Along with the angst and other tags.

Scary Stories to tell in the dark has my vote, and while I know it borders scifi/paranormal, Bailey's School House Kids had one or two books that really made me scared (as I'd read them when the rest of the house was dark and quiet).

da
Why not both?

(Anonymous) 2021-06-10 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
McDonald's in US is kind of crap, honestly. Even though I loved it as a kid. Cheap quality burger buns, "uniform" meat patties containing beef from up to 1000 different cows, not-fresh veggie toppings. The chicken nuggets aren't terribly appetizing (I'd rather go to Wendy's), and though the fries are delicious, I hear they have to go through a process just to be edible. Egg McMuffin is probably the only thing I'll get off the menu that doesn't disappoint me.

Meat doesn't actually make you sick in itself if you haven't eaten it in a long time, that's mainly a mental thing. And 'a whole meal, especially as heavy as" lol you act as if a vegetarian diet is perfectly healthy and balanced and fat free when there is so, so much fried food that actually is vegetarian. Just because you're vegetarian doesn't mean you lead some ascetic, fat free life.

I feel bad for all of them. The strict rules of royalty are not something anyone should be forced to endure. Charles couldn't marry the woman he wanted to, Diana didn't get anything she wanted out of the marriage, and they both cheated on each other a lot.

Like, fandom people often bring out how cheating in an arranged marriage is okay, and that is what this was.

I usually hate the really blatant product placement (especially if it's like in the MDZS donghua where ice cream is just so weirdly out of place) but I didn't mind it as much in this for three reasons. 1. Wen Kexing eating walnuts (and Zhou Zishu being majorly grossed out by them) is a recurring thing/running gag in the novel so a nut product placement is hilariously fitting. 2. They actually call it out as product placement on the show and I respect that haha and 3. The sponsor deal apparently helped this show a LOT and I like the show so I'm fine with this.

(Anonymous) 2021-06-10 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
I'm the OP. I guess I can't prove it to you but I did eat it and it was fine. It's pretty processed so honestly, it's not a ton of meat and, besides the taste, it was very similar to the chick*n tenders I get sometimes.

(Anonymous) 2021-06-10 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
Not super hot. It tasted like honey mustard with a zing to it.

Yeah, also mid 30s and remember everyone falling over themselves mentioning how much of a saint she was and how those evil celebrity mags and yellow press did her dirty. Matter of where you lived, I assume?

(Anonymous) 2021-06-10 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
OP. Nope, I'm in the US where it was exactly the same as regular except the sauces. Which were pretty good.

Oho, I'm curious now! The places I've been to weren't as swarmed with ARMYs so hopefully that's the case. Thanks for the tip!

OP. Wow, did not think this story would get me called a decaying human soul.

After over a year of not getting to do anything, excuse me for wanting to do something irl with my fandom.

When I was a kid my Dad taped somethings off the TV with commercials intact and now half the fun is getting to see them. (Teddy Ruxbin - what a trip)

I feel sorry for him too, 'cause he did get royally screwed over a lot by life in general, but at the same time, he's responsible for his own choices (especially his murder of Tuba, holy shit what the fuck). Unlike Grace, when he was shown hard evidence that he and the rest of Apex had been wrong all along, he doubled down and refused to bend, and he took his anger out on everyone else (which is sadly not at all uncommon in real life), and ultimately it cost him his life. A lot of his anger was justified, though, and the really sad part is that I do think he could have redeemed himself if he'd lived. I guess that's what ultimately makes his story so tragic, though.

(Anonymous) 2021-06-10 06:46 am (UTC)(link)
I feel bad for the way he was written. It was as if they were afraid people would like him too much so they had to make him turn evil so they could kill him off without upsetting viewers. Well it backfired, because I that kind of writing doesn't make me hate the character, it makes me mad at the writers.

Also I posted about feeling bad about this like a week ago on my twitter and I hope nobody thinks this secret is mine; I try not to talk about fandom issues I make into secrets because they're not secrets.

SA and more spoilers

(Anonymous) 2021-06-10 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
*turn eviller. Because he and Grace were both evil until the last minute. No, he did not become more evil when he killed Tuba, he and Grace had been killing Train denizens for years and this kill wasn't worse than the others just because the audience knew the character who was killed this one time.

Yeah, and it's even worse under any type of news and gossip story about this bunch. They basically function as a soap (and somehow, "RPF is icky, how can you" never comes into play here - and I write it as a eprson who's not into RPF).

this only means something if you're a vegetarian because of ethics surrounding the treatment of animals. if you are, yeah I think this is a little pathetic.
