I don't buy that absolutely no one involved in the prequel said anything to Jared. It's more likely that someone contacted him, he either blew them off or ignored their call, and now that his new show is tanking hard he's playing the victim for sympathy points.

Or who knows, maybe they all collectively decided that the extra hype and views the show would generate through his involvement wasn't worth having to actually work with him again. Either way, this doesn't speak well of JP.

There are a couple videos going around where Jensen does mention that he is working on prequels. Hell, for all we know he wasn't allowed to talk about it yet.

I'm not extremely knowledgeable about Supernatural, but I'm perplexed at so many people taking glee over an actor being left out of the loop on something he shouldn't have been and rightfully feeling crushed over it. Is he actually a horrible person, or is being an actor on an annoyingly popular, mundanely problematic show enough to make someone deserve this level of petty glee at their misery?

Padelecki is an ass and this isn't the first time he's been one on Twitter. He uses his stans to attack people. He knows they do it and still doxxes people over it.

perhaps not a completely horrible person, but he's a very melodramatic man-child on social media, he's doxxed a waitress for bad service, he's said some really shitty stuff about phillip seymour hoffman's death, got in a drunken fist fight with an employee (???) and just talks like this online:





personally i just find him insufferable, and while feeling hurt about something like being cut out of any knowledge of that does suck, it's jared's inability to just sort it out privately, along with all their weird fans who are really weirdly invested in the friendship of two strangers that i find more funny than anything. and the whole concept of no, the show will never truly die, it will just keep coming back with these two not telling each other things which is the exact issue their characters had. season 17 is great!

Jared Padalecki’s a horse’s ass. It just bugs me how some of his fans defend his behavior because “it’s his mental illness talking and not really him”. Dude clearly has a pattern of sending his fans to attack whoever he feels personally wronged him instead of talking things out like an adult.

Agree that he probably got so sick of Jared's bullshit. He loved playing Dean, but you can tell Jared is a diva. He also screwed around on set playing pranks on the core cast. Time is money when you're the production company, which Jensen is, this time.

a ) jensen doesn't owe jared anything regarding information he probably couldn't discuss anyway just because this a project related to something he was once a part of he has no reason to be involved with now
b ) if he really wanted to bring back one of his old projects, dark angel was RIGHT there

Jared's very emotional and has no emotional regulation and frankly I think that that quite often makes him a complete asshole (I'm not trying to diminish his mental health issues, but he always struck me as the type of person who is wildly hypocritical about who deserves empathy for them, i.e. him and no one else, and I think his mental health campaigns are mixture of sincere gratitude for the people who helped him and ready excuse for his inability to make progress). I think that that also makes him a person who is very popular and compelling when he's not an asshole. Jensen on the other hand is the type that is mostly professional, and frankly way more thoughtful about his career and persona, except where he can follow the leader (i.e. Misha or Jared). In other words, I can very much see how they drifted apart after the show (and when Jared remained messy and shitty in public non-acting contexts), but I think it's fairly insulting to both Jensen and Jared to pretend that Jensen and Jared's reputation on set weren't mutual endeavors. I do think Jensen would have stayed on SPN longer than Jared, and I do think that ties into this conflict.

All that said, I don't think you can create a show that gleefully plays into its fanbase and their love for either one of the main two characters and that character's actor, or occasionally both characters and actors and think that such a prequel would be fairly well-regarded by the whole fanbase, especially when it's not couched as a collective effort, or at least a supportive effort, by both faces of the show and not get a shitstorm. This was highly foreseeable, and likely very easy to get Jared's buy-in in a simple retweet form, and I think less of everyone involved from a professional context.
