I'm REALLY hoping you already knew this, but if not...Look up the movie Forbidden Zone. Danny Elfman PLAYS SATAN in it. He has a white suit and he sings jazz. It's EPIC AND AWESOME even though he's only in one scene

XD I actually do know about that! While I think the makeup is a bit crazy (I prefer straight up Danny) I've only seen pictures, haven't actually watched it myself. I ought to do that. :D

131. As much as I understand why Adama did what he did, I still feel sorry for Gaeta and can understand his (limited through the circumstances) viewpoint too.

It's sad there's so much hate going on in the fandom, so you have to post this as a secret. And most of the comments here only confirm that there is a reason to fear to openly have a different opinion.

Still, you're not supposed to like the aunt, regardless of what you think of Elizabeth. (I saw the BBC adaptation before reading it the first time, back when I was twelve or so, so when I think Elizabeth, I think Jennifer Ehle's portrayal of her, which is slightly friendlier to the character.) What I was objecting to the complete miscasting that the new movie did, because Judy Dench has everything that Darcy's aunt is not supposed to have - aka the ability to pull off the jabs she does in the course of the movie. Judy Dench as Lady Catherine is just likable, whereas Keira Knightley as Elizabeth is not. It completely destroys the scene at the end of the movie, because I was squeeing about Judy Dench nailing home those lines, instead of rooting for Lizzie.

...When I first started watching Avatar, I thought Zutara was going to be the ultimate pairing, and that they added Toph in season 2 so that Aang would have someone...

Oh come on, all of them are like that. I love SasuSaku more than is probably good for me, but their fc has its fair share of forced spazzing, as does the NaruSaku fc, and the NaruHina fc, and the NaruSasu fc, and pretty much every pairing fc on that board. You just have to delve past the crazies and get to all the good discussion moments, rare as they are.

130 - im not even an mcr fan and id lynch you for that. black parade is one of the stupidest songs ive ever heard, hands down. ive hated it since the very first time i heard it. dont get me wrong, its catchy. but still stupid.

161 - yeah, seriously. book!brennan is such a badass, i love her. and her romance w/ lister is infinitely more interesting than tv!bones' w/ booth. im really starting to think that its all in the subtlety - theres not alot of attention afforded the romance aspect in the books, whereas that seems to be ALL the show is these days.

169. Ah, poor Repo. It had such potential, on stage and on film. I sometimes wonder if that's what people are reacting to: what the story could have been rather than what it is. I'm not afraid to call myself a fan, but I really wouldn't judge someone who didn't like it. I'm not blind. I can see the bad, too.

147. I can understand why people don’t like him. If he were a real person, I’d hate his guts and pray that he didn’t get my name. But since he’s a character, I find him interesting.

Granted that I'm more in fandom on the boards than on LJ, but... I've never seen the level of crazy you're talking about here. I've been in the fandom all of a week and everyone I've met has been very welcoming.

Part of what you're seeing may be that fandom is very into promoting the movie themselves because Lionsgate isn't doing anything to promote it, themselves; Darren Bousman has said that the company considers it a financial failure, so the only way for those of us who do like it to get the director's cut or sequels that we'd like to have is to promote it ourselves.

As far as the music goes - it's struck me since the first time I heard it as being the kind of thing you either like or dislike. It's a matter of taste. I can tell you for certain my best friend wouldn't like it, just because of the style of music it is; that doesn't mean I'm going to hate on her for it, or make her try to like it, either! Everyone is entitle to their opinions.

However: I think a lot of the hate I've seen about Repo is either because of the music - which I tend to think has more to do with the haters' tastes in music than the quality of the music itself - or because of Paris Hilton or Sarah Brightman. Paris Hilton is, admittedly, immensely loathable, and I've never liked her myself, but I thought she was hysterical in Repo because she was basically playing herself. I happen to like Sarah Brightman, and I've got to admit I don't understand all the hate for her, so I'm not going to try to argue against that.

Okay, done with my tl;dr now. :)

Word! I used to ship them, but now I can't stand this pairing. Plus it doesn't help that I think it's partially the rabid shippers' fault that the show currently sucks so bad.

I have to agree. The fact that they have revolved the WHOLE show around the will they/won't they(when they didn't do that the first two seasons), has ruined the dynamic of the show.

Damn, now I do, too. That's pretty freakin' hot.

122--I didn't know about it until I saw the trailer as recommended to me by my (level of nerd that makes ME embarrassed sometimes) cousin, and then I went and read the book. It's not blasphemy. It's why the trailer existed; to broaden the spectrum of people who know about Watchmen. (Can't speak for the whole fandom, though; don't really participate...)
