I agree. I was interested in it when I heard the premise, but upon actually seeing it I felt a bit "...ehhh" about it. That includes several episodes from different seasons (I sometimes watch it just if its on for background noise).

To me it just feels as if it's someone's half-hearted failed attempt to laugh at nerds rather than nerdy humor coming from a nerd. (I don't know if it is or is not, that's just how it feels!)

I much prefer SPACED when it comes to a situational nerd comedy, at least they really do act like losers/geeks and not a high school jock's supposed ideal of losers/geeks.

It isn't that I find the show offensive at all, it's just that when they do nerdy thingss (like the MMO episode) it's riddled in "... but that's not how that goes D:"

Really? I have no problem with when they include Jasmine, but what really bothers me is when they include Disney girls that were not actual princesses, like Mulan and Pocahontas (yes, she was the daughter of the chief, but that doesn't make her a princess. Where's the tiara?).

Yes I knew it would sound racist, that's why it's secret.
Some people did get what I was trying to say though.
I do hate it when they include Ariel in mermaid form with the other Princesses. And if it was Belle or Aurora or whomever in pants and a bra like top, I'd say she looks out of place.
I agree with the post above this one that if they put in ALL the princesses, even honorary ones like Mulan, that would be awesome.

115-Beauty and the Beast, the story they're starting with, is pretty much about true love, so there's no way they could have ended with a different outcome. All the "I want adventure" really was a red-herring. Though her courtship really did involve some excitement. Anyway, I think the point of showing why the Beast was a good choice for Belle was that he liked her to do the things she liked, so I never thought their getting together meant settling down. They could travel--the Beast would be thrilled to get away from the castle, I'd imagine.

146-I ship H/D, liked Ginny in 1-4, totally hated her in 5-6 and was pretty neutral on her in 7. I don't think it was handled very well as a story in the book, though. I would have been much more interested in seeing a romance between Harry and the Ginny from 1-4 than Harry and the "she's been hiding her personality but here it is now!" girl in 5,6. But hating Ginny isn't a pre-requisite for liking or writing H/D. Some fics don't bash her at all.

While I do agree with you, Disney could get away with the story having a different outcome. Look at the Little Mermaid, for instance. In the original tale, the mermaid did not end up with the prince, yet in the movie she did.

Disney's Beauty and the Beast was markedly different from the fairly tale, so them having a different ending could be plausible. (FYI, even though the movie is different from the fairy tale, it's still my favorite movie ever. >.>)

I kind of know what you mean, but I hate the feeling. I don't want to live my life for the critics, especially when much of that particular crowd will point and laugh at an uneven hem or unfortunately colored fabric like it's a tinfoil robo-arm.


And yet, there's still something relieving about pleasing those who seem impossible to please.
