104:Loool, this secret pretty much sums up all the knowledge I have about this series, too! I remember someone commenting a loooong time ago(I have a good memory for comments like that)that Loveless wasn't a BL series. I found it pretty odd, because from the little I've seen and heard about it, it really did seem to fill The BL quota...anyone who's got better insight that mind explaining??

The only BL-ish thing about Loveless is the fact, that Soubi (you know, the tall, blonde guy) says he loves Ritsuka, the little cat-eared boy. Which he doesn't. AND there's a reason why he says that, not because he actually does love him. (and there's the few kisses they share, heh.. )

But nothing actually romantic happens, everything Soubi does is because he was ordered to do so. I wouldn't really count Loveless as BL, since no boys actually are in a relationship (though Soubi and Ritsuka's relationship, and Seimei and Ritsuka's relationship is bordering on it, badly, though the latter could only be counted as a strong, obsessive, one-sided brotherly love) or harbour any feelings. I wouldn't count Loveless as shoujo-ai either, even though it has a girl couple.

Sorry for the rant and if I didn't make myself clear. It just irks me a bit everytime someone hints that Loveless is only a BL or as shotacon. And there's the fact that while Ritsuka is a young kid, he acts really mature for his age.

Try reading it and make your own conclusions.
