One question: compared to WHO, dammit? In a set of secrets that include Batman, A Streetcar Named Desire, Stargate Atlanatis and Supernatural how the heck can Joss Whedon be the big evil misogynist? Because sometimes he depicts violence against women? Because he casts attractive women and shows them using their looks to get their way? (I love Leverage, but Sophie skeeves me out. Because it might be put forward that he has fetishized cute little girls? Compared to manga and anime in general? Or fucking Hannah Montana in specific? Because he's allegedly reacted badly when one of his actresses got pregnant? See every live-action TV show in recorded history.

So, you have to be perfect to label yourself a feminist? Especially if you're male? Putting your money where your mouth is, hiring female writers and directors and producers, showing most female characters as seeking to be independant and self- reliant? Zoe? None of that counts?

We're all screwed, then, men and women (and I'm the latter) because if we attempt to examine misogyny or learned helplessness as issues, and do it in any way except flat-footed polemics, then we're just putting our seal of approval on it.

127 - You would have friends that didn't care if you liked Hetalia if Hetalia wasn't an offensive, borderline racist, badly drawn, unfunny comic with an unbelievably racist fanbase ("we should just forget about slavery" anyone? don't get me started on the anti-korea stuff).

If you like something that's been criticized (and banned no less) for being racist, people will judge you for it. Just like they'd judge you for listening to Prussian Blue. Accept that or move on.

Way to generalize the fanbase! Yes, we ALL think we should just forget about slavery, and you should assume any friend of yours who likes Hetalia thinks the same, even if they've never showed that kind of attitude through the course of your friendship.

By the way, badly drawn and unfunny aren't good reasons to care if someone likes something you don't, so you might want to omit those next time you're trying to make a worthwhile point.

135. I'd love to see Dick Grayson in the next Nolan movie. He's such a great balance to Bruce - he keeps him grounded, and provides a touch of comedy to a very dark person. But of course, Nolan and Bale both hate the character because of what Chris O'Donnell did to him. Too bad they can't just skip forward to Tim Drake.

Also, I can't stop staring at Robin's crotch in that picture. It's just... hypnotic.

104 - I will never understand how Dollhouse is supposed to be misogynistic. Can somebody explain this to me? Are we supposed to like the Dollhouse, and think what they're doing is a good thing? Because I sure as hell don't. It could do with less fanservice, yes, but I'm pretty sure that's the network (Why the hell Joss is working with FOX anyway, I don't even know.)
