I would love love love to see Dick (or any Robin) show up in the movies - but I'm pretty sure he never will because it would make the whole child abuse/child endangerment aspect of Robinhood uncomfortably apparent (unless they went the Chris O'Donnell adult-Robin route again, and that would just be... no).

OTOH, after the ideology on display in The Dark Knight, who the fuck knows.

It's not child abuse or child endangerment if they treat Dick with respect! You have to start him young, bring him in as eight or ten, and have him build a strong father-and-son relationship with Bruce. Then you need to have Dick discover Bruce's secret, and want to be apart of it; but have Bruce and Alfred tell him NO because he's too young and it's too dangerous. However, that wouldn't stop them from training Dick to become Robin -- in the future. The problem becomes no one wants to take the time and build the relationship and trust. They just want to put the kid in the costume and have at it. But that's just WRONG. Bruce trained for years to be Batman; he would make Dick go through the same process (even if it's an expedited version).

I may be way off base with this -- it's just a theory based on what we've seen so far -- but I think their marriage (if TPTB deal with that at all) will be more of a 'political' statement than anything (maybe Arthur proving that he's truly a man of the people, or something.) Don't get me wrong...I can easily see Arthur having great affection and fondness for Gwen, but so far the romantic chemistry isn't there (to me anyway; others may see it), and we've already seen the great mutual attraction between Gwen and Lancelot.

I've definitely heard this theory, but I can't imagine how much that would suck. Gwen as political tool? No thanks. I'd hoped we could avoid that in this series since she isn't a noblewoman -- you would think that for the two of them to even be together, much less marry, given all the societal obstacles and pressure they'd face, they would almost have to be in love.
