I can definitely see it. OTOH, I feel like Margot Robbie is great in the role, and adds a sharp, wickedly playful edge that I don't think Brittany Murphy would have. Basically, Robbie's Harley reminds me a bit of Tank Girl, and I really like that.

Seriously. As long as you are not hurting any real people, write what you enjoy and do what you want. Fandom policing is the worst thing to have ever happened to the enjoyment of any work.

For all its perviness, Dragon Maid is a cute anime about foreigners living in a new land, and making bonds on the way. If anyone tells you you should not enjoy it nor even dare to write a fic about it because it's ***problematic***, they are not even going to be the main audience in the first place.

Fuck those people. Enjoy what you like. Love thrash especially because it is thrash, and be happy for the gems you may find, in both consuming that media and writing for it. Life is far too brief and far too painful to worry about fandom puritans.

Hmm... I have to say I've never seen anyone literally tell someone to stop writing

I've seen people discourage others from posting in communities before, but mostly those were deserved requests because the person was spamming everyone new 300 word "chapters" of their fic multiple times a day or something
