As someone who's been there: stop. It's more than fine and you'll be happier in the long run. You've earned your cut-off OP, lol.

Slogging through it won't make you like it or even be okay with it, and continuing to watch something you really don't like is only going to make you bitter about the whole thing. If you really want to see how the characters you like end up either try to youtube their scenes, or skip through the show to scenes with them in. I did a mixture of the two for the characters I liked and it cut down a 50-ep annoying slog into about 20-eps or so.

I feel you, because it took me a long time to come to terms with stopping reading a book mid-book if I don't like it. I finally learned to put down the book. It was freeing.

Free yourself, OP. Just stop. If you're bingeing it, make yourself a promise to wait, put it off a few days, do other things, etc etc. Eventually you'll just have not continued watching it through inertia, and you'll have broken free.

As someone who adores the two leads, you have my permission to stop as well, haha. If you're only halfway through and still annoyed, it's only going to get more in-depth when it comes to the two of them. Other anon's idea to look up the scenes of the characters you do like sounds like a good one!

This is how I felt about Word of Honor and I wish I'd just given that up instead of sunk-costing my way through. If you don't vibe with it, OP, there is no shame in moving on! Spend your time on things you truly enjoy!

You're allowed to stop, but there's also a huge swathe of the fandom that's primarily in it for Jiang Cheng/Nie Bros/Jin Guangyao/Lan Xichen/the Juniors/Yi City Crew/other assorted faves. (I am in this group. I also dislike both leads a good bit. TBF I still haven't got through the show - powering through the book was faster and easier for me.)

If there's some of them you like...take a break, read some fic centering on them. If it gets you curious/excited enough about the plot to go back, great! If you can enjoy the fandom without ever finishing the show, great! If you don't enjoy the fandom that much, then you are validated in not continuing the show and you can drop them both and move on!

The drama is not nearly as good as the novel, it's bloated, the acting is... bad. So I definitely don't blame you for struggling to connecting to the leads (or anyone else).

This is a drama that would have been well served by having way fewer episodes (and also not making some of their adaptation changes, lmao) so I'm not surprised when I see people talk about struggling to get through it.

My easiest watch of it was when I skipped the entire flashback. It was the best viewing experience of this show I've had, and that's me skipping a good 30 episodes, lol.

100% stop if you're not enjoying it! Go watch something else you enjoy, no reason to punish yourself by trying to slog through something this long that you're not enjoying

The soundtrack is indeed pretty baller.

imo it's integrated into gameplay so well that it doesn't let you down. the game is a little grindy! hasn't surprised me much yet, but I've been playing JRPGs for 15 years, so that's not a shock.

if you're here for demon negotiations, fusion and a little sketchy humanity, it'll probably still make you happy. it seems pretty in keeping with the other games in the series (for reference, my favs are DDS and DeSu).
