I spend my entire weekends playing.
I spent at least an hour a day even when I don't have time.
Playing FFXI is the only thing that keeps me happy when I'm stuck in this shithole working 40+ hours a week and all my friends are 1,000's of miles away. At least when I log on -- people are exited to see me.

So I guess being a loser over a video game is fine by me. :3

I walked past that book on the shelves ever since I first got into graphic novels/comic books and barely glanced at it cause I didn't know what it was (except for a very brightly-colored cover). When the trailers started showing up in the movies, it looked cool. So, I figured I oughta read the book before sitting down in the theater.

I got addicted to it as soon as I opened it. And yeah, I've seen comments from people dismissing fans that didn't read the book until the movie was about to come out, but whatever. Last time I checked, the only requirement for being a "fan" was liking something.

The Watchmen fandom so far has actually been pretty mellow about it compared to some other ones I've seen...

Have had some resistance from die-hards, but the LJ comms are generally pretty easygoing, so long as you don't ask stupidly obvious questions, and express more than a passing interest. This is my first hardcore fandom, and it's been the most welcoming so far.

I have a thing about eye-trauma, so at the part when the other mother presented Coraline with that box with the buttons and the needle in it, the implications gave me this full-body chill of revulsion and terror like I haven't felt in a long long time. I spent most of the rest of the movie bawling, though. I'm 21 too =)

163. I did, too. there were bits in the book that made me feel for him ("I just don't know what stimulats you anymore", aww) but whenever he did anything in the movie his blank eyes and vague voice just ripped at my heart.

Trust me, you're not alone. I've met him at two separate conventions and found him to be ... a total douchebag, actually. Drunk, rude, egotistical, and self-absorbed. And the fangirls just keep pandering, which only makes it worse.

I love his character to bits, I think he's a great actor and a wonderful musician, but his personality and fanbase interaction leaves something to be desired. I could definitely excuse it, except for the fangirls still getting off on it, still fawning over him, etc.

Protip: If you spend 99.9% of a convention drunk and look epically sulky to be anywhere associated with the con itself, then you might want to rethink hitting the major US/UK con circuit like it's your fucking job. You just end up alienating your fans and looking like a dick.

126. Everybody's got a kink, hon, and that one is fairly common. Rape fantasies have been around for ages, and many men and women have them. It's wrong to dismiss these people as disgusting for being attracted to power play when no one can control what they're attracted to.

Remember that fantasy and reality are very different. That the vast majority would never advocate actual rape. Educate yourself on human sexuality and it's many facets before you condemn.
