Has probably already been answered but one of the directors says that the reason Brock was taken off for the Orange Islands is because they thought people overseas might think he was an Asian stereotype and that a character who looked more white might appeal to a wider audience.

Which begs the question of if Brock is Asian and Tracey is white, what the heck is everyone *else*?

Its far from silly, Hercules is pretty much what I'd find attractive in a guy if I was looking. He's so sweet, awkward and kind. Just hits all the right buttons. Aka I love this movie more then I probably should. Its one of my favorites. (I quote Meg wayyy to often.)

109 - I would agree. If:
1) Regene and Tieria had been shown to be interacting with each other inside of Veda.
2) We were shown at least Tieria interacting with the outside world.
3) There wasn't the movie that would show just how much this "end" is just a "holdover".

Because without the first two, the only thing that makes this NOT an absolute BS end is the third. It's not a good final end for Tieria-- he's worked too hard for the human connections he has, to toss them away as some watchdog. Watching/guarding was his roll in S1, and he was obviously much happier after that roll was expanded.

Not liking the end isn't even about Neil/Tieria for a lot of people. Nor is it about Regene. It's about Tieria and his own humanity.

Ianto haters can suck it.

I'm a little confused. Does the fact that I adore Castiel automatically make me shallow or racist? Does it matter that I, and pretty much every person on my flist and every fan I spoke to on the messageboards, adored Uriel?

I thought he kicked ass, I was sad that he had to die, I loved his snark. Uriel has a fandom following. Not in the way Castiel does, but he was well received by most of us. As always, it's the minority of vocal haters that give fandom a bad name.

And you know what? Had Castiel been black, I still would have adored him. Had Uriel been white, same difference.

In fact at the end of the day, I don't give a flying fuck about a persons skin colour, religion or sexuality. As far as I'm concerned, there's a whole host of other ways to define someone. Skin colour shouldn't even enter into the equation, and people who insist on putting it there are only prolonging this racial division.

The fans who view Uriel as 'the black angel who was killed' are completely missing the point. It has absolutely nothing to do with his skin colour. Uriel was not the black angel, Uriel was the badass, bad tempered, sarcastic and dangerous angel who hated humans and turned on his own kind because he wanted things to go back to the way they once were.

Besides, when actors are cast in this show, the casting calls never specify 'this character must be black/white/asian'. The role is written long before an actor is chosen for it. People are just looking for and accusing others of prejudice where there is none.

BINGO! Look, my white privilege card is all filled up. I WIN!

149- Almost ANY game is better than FFT.

Spock has always been my favorite character, and I thought Nimoy was beautiful in the role. I'm looking forward to seeing both him and Quinto portray Spock in the new film.
