It also depressed me when I was a kid. It was my favorite movie when I was 9-10. Sure, it was probably what first drove home the point that life is finite, which I thought about for months after I first saw it... But I still watched it again and again.

I also think it held up well over the years, since I still like it. (And mist up a little if I just think about it too much.) And it's what made me realize that I'm particularly sentimental about robots.
