Japan really does have a weird world view when it comes to WW2. They just seem to see the Hugo Boss uniforms and not the horrific systemic slaughter. The Japanese school system needs reform.

Pro-Nazi is one approach. The second approach is to have fantasy factions that are the Nazis and imperial Japan, but imperial Japan fights against the Nazis and ultimately defeats them. The third approach is to ditch World War II Germany for your setting and use World War I Germany instead.

Maybe because Riker is perfectly fine to be told no and respects that? He was friends with Deanna for years after their breakup with no idea they'd get back together. A lot of promiscuous male characters are kind of aggressive and pushy.

Most promiscuous male characters are aggressive about getting laid. They're either actively trying to get laid or obsessing about when they're going to get laid next or obsessing over who they want to fuck next.

Riker's just easy and comfortable with it.

I maintain that the most fun I've had with pairings, romantic or platonic, has been the crack ones. I have a special place in my heart for an impossible SPN ship that my friend and I managed to RP into something adorable.

Properly done crack pairings are nice to read. I've read one too many "LOL! Sugar high crack!" in my time that I'm a bit weary of them.

Seems like people are confusing him with Lucifer (of the TV series Lucifer, not a different fictional version or even the actual Lucifer) who does that a lot

I totally agree with this.

One of my favorite Riker scenes is the one from The Price where the smarmy negotiator Ral is trying to needle Riker about the negotiations. And he tries to make Riker angry about the fact Riker's not with Deanna and he is. And Riker just completely shuts him down, there's absolutely no jealousy or anger, Riker is just like: if you can make Deanna happy, I would be absolutely delighted, she's her own person and not my property, but if you think you can use that as a tool to get me mad you're an idiot. And usually with a typical male lothario type of character he would be possessive and angry and competitive and defensive in a situation like that, but instead it's absolutely calm and self-assured. And that's Riker in a nutshell.
