Well, IMHO, people are being generally nice and reasonable. And the worst take is in the Percy Jackson secret, which I would not have called.

I've definitely seen worse here, but the night /is/ young (where I am, anyway).

The fandom approvals haven’t gotten too bad. The transphobia one only has like one iffy subthread at this time. The Drag Race one is pretty good so far.

The Deard one is getting kinda bad. It’s not the worst, especially because it doesn’t feel as overrun by AH apologists or JD stans as it could be. And there’s still civil conversations being almost the dominant ones. But tensions do still seem to be running a little high in some places, so I still wouldn’t recommend the thread.

My courgettes (zucchini) have had a germination failure rate of over eighty percent. I am fucked right the fuck off with this turn of events.

...So last night I finished editing and posting a fic, then was kind of depressed because I'd forgotten I actually liked that rarepair and I would have liked to write more about them, but that story arc was complete. And I didn't have anything else to work on, which is always depressing.

Then I turned out the light and before I fell asleep, got an idea of a continuation from the fic I just finished. In the morning woke up and immediately wrote the first couple scenes.

Not sure if pleased or exasperated.

Also, my google search history for researching this storyline is now "what is the charge when you kill someone driving drunk" and "how many dog biscuits can you give a golden retriever per day". This fandom... *shakes head*

I'm mentally and physically exhausted. I just feel wiped out. My body hurts, especially my hands and feet. I don't even really know why since it hasn't been a particularly difficult week or a particularly long week given the holiday monday. I just feel drained.

And tomorrow I have to do budgeting and bills, so not going to get to rest.

I did just take a nice hour long bath, though. So I'm feeling a little better than I did an hour ago.

But honestly I really just want to go and spend the weekend in the middle of nowhere with no contact with any humans.

Oh, also, I do have something to look forward to. We've agreed my parents are going to pay for me to get my ears re-pierced for my birthday. I've made the appointment at Clair's for July 9. And I've also ordered some new makeup from Amazon because most of mine is at least 5 years old and probably should be thrown out.

I’ve been following a fanfic for over a year now and I became sorta-friends with the author, but I don’t think we really have anything else in common besides the fic, and the fic is almost over, and I think I’m gonna miss my squee buddy as much as I’ll miss the updates.

Preparing for a massive family event tomorrow and Sunday and I am the host. I should go early to sleep but am wired even though everything that can be prepared is prepared. I'm a bit worried that different ends of the family won't go well together I think.

Badly. I'm a disabled single woman who's been deputised by the family to look after our very elderly mother who is refusing to move out of her own home. I'm still in my own home, but have said that I won't be the caregiving robot any more (not in those exact words.) Produced a doctor's note to back me up. Now the entire family, except my mother, has ostracised me, especially my sister who took it upon herself to interrogate me about what's going on with one of my internal organs (she's a PhD and is there fore more intelligent than any GP or specialist in her opinion.)

I always knew my family didn't give a crap about me but this is surprising even to me - I thought they were capable of pretending to be decent but no. Mulling ove going to hospital to try TMS treatment for lifelong depression but I'm scared of that too.

If it wasn't for my friends, who are fantastic, and my financial independence, I don't know if I could get through this. I've had 1-2 medical and psychological appointments a day in the last month. Obviously I'm making it up about not being able to care for a nonagenarian. /s

I live in a nice area, and have holidays planned which I'm looking forward to. I have wonderful friends who worry about me. I have the internet. But I can't do much - see "disabled" - I have an hour a day or I pay the price thereafter. So going for a nice walk isn't an option.

Friends are worried, yes, and I try to think of them. But I hope they wouldn't want me to suffer, and I am suffering.

Above F!S's paygrade I know, and I am getting a lot of help. It's still relentlessly awful.

We have a deceased baby gosling chick or whatever you call it right in front of our lawn/sidewalk and (what I assume was) the wild turkey mother hen finally left. No idea how it died.

Pissed off and a little scared. My last period ended May 15, I tested positive for Covid May 17, and I started spotting May 20 and haven't stopped; today it's been heavy enough that I needed a pad. I'm gonna email my doctor but it's one of those things where I kind of don't want to know.

I'm not sexually active and only had my first pap smear a couple years ago, and I've heard covid can do weird stuff to people's cycles and periods so maybe it'll go away on its own. I hope it's nothing or just perimenopause; I'll be 39 soon.

Other than that and a headache, I'm good.

What is everyone doing?

At my sister's today. Sunday I am taking my nephew on his first trip (and airplane ride!) to Chicago for 4 days. Hopefully he has fun.

Go Fest. That's... about it. Pride is happening downtown tomorrow too, so I may go with rainbows on and my phone in hand, hahah.

If I can drag myself away from the new fic I started this morning.
