You’re going to get through this. You may come out bloody and screaming and it’ll haunt you for the rest of your life but you’ll get through this.

(I was bullied in school and didn’t have a lot of support. nearly took my own life. but I’m still here and I wish I could tell her it’ll be ok)

Go to a state college. Get a more generalized degree (like business). Buy bitcoin. Driving isn't as scary as it seems.

ETA: Oh...mine isn't at meaningful. Lol. I was making an action plan.

Thank you secret maker! I love how little the pictured floor plan matches my go-to, it really drives home to me how many homes *aren't* a three bedroom bungalow. I have a moment of vertigo whenever a fic mentions stairs or the geography doesn't match up.

(Anonymous) 2023-07-26 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
That's exactly what I was coming here to say. XD

Invest in Apple.

I think it's perfectly reasonable to say what you said here.

I remember complaints about male fans glamorizing the mob life, but not Tony in particular. Maybe because the show also leaned into the middle-aged family man part of his life?

Sinead O'Connor passed away.

It's so sad.

She was an amazing person. Who was ridiculed and hated for something she turned out to be 100% right about. Also, her voice was amazing.

Go to college. Take better care of yourself. Those people that you think are your good friends, aren't.

1.) Find [Husband's name] in [year we met] by [place we met].
2.) Go to school for [X] not [Y], trust me you'll hate [Y] and drop out.
3.) The reason you freak out so hard is mental illness not a moral failing, talk to a doctor and get anti-depressants.

If I went back far enough brainstorm with myself how to my parents about [family friend] having a health issue to try and get them to tell that friend to get checked for a specific issue. Maybe a weird, prophetic dream? I was a weird kid, I bet I'd have ideas.

Have they announced the cause of death yet?

Mostly just investment advice.

I wouldn't call The Hobbit a prequel, even if there were some changes made to editions following the publishing of The Lord of the Rings. It was first published seventeen years before The Fellowship of the Ring.

Get another therapist. Yes this one sucked donkey balls but I promise there are others, competent, who can and will help you. Because boy do you need the help. And it sucks donkey balls that this creep made things worse instead.

This made me go look up how many versions there have been

All the changes through the years: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5FOA0oM5I8

Today's isn't too bad compared to past years. 1994-98 is by far the worst imo.

Not that I've seen.

Read a lot for this ship back in the day because I absolutely adored it. It just was right up my alley: Grumpy old asshole who is just rude as hell and out of any fucks to give and damaged shady scheming younger guy with major daddy issues? Sign me up!
I think I'll go hunt for fic again one of these days.
Also, for once a BL side pairing I like is fairly popular, hooray!

I don't understand why people choose to go online only to be mean. Why go to a community if all you're going to do is be crabby and mean and stir shit up? I've never understood trolling, it seems kind of psychopathic behavior to me.

It's hard to get a jury to convict a celebrity.

Depends on the age. At a certain age it would definitely be some kind of "it gets better/it won't always be like this" message. Other ages it would be "nothing matters, the world is going to go to shit, just do what makes you happy and forget everyone else." And a general "travel more. it's not as scary or impossible as you think."

it clicked when I saw the address listed as Miami, sure enough that's the Golden Girls house.

godDAMN Blanche was rich to afford a home that size, even if she needed roommates.

I used to have books of house plans (they were sold in the magazine racks of bookstores until about 10 days ago) and now will go online to find houseplans that seem like the house in the story I am reading. Especially when I read Agatha Christie or Ngaio Marsh or similar stories with English country houses. I like to look on the RightMove database for sale ads with pictures and floorplans. One time I found a house that was exactly the way I pictured the house in Christie's Sleeping Murder, and the house was even named Hillside, which is the name of the house in the book. For farmhouses I always picture one house I loved as a kid.

So I completely understand wanting to picture the house in a story, and filling in a house you know when you need to.

Favorite fictional house/floor plan?

(Anonymous) 2023-07-27 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
Inspired by #3

The floor plan doesn't actually add up, but I always liked The Waltons house.
