People who had covid and taste changes....

Have you successfully trained your taste buds back to normal? Covid ruined the taste (and smell) of peanut butter, coffee, roasted deli meats, and arugala. The peanut butter is the real loss since I used to eat PB&Js (plus various peanut based candies) all the time.

I've tried all the alternative nut butters but they are all just awful. Most are too wet or taste bland. So...I've been trying to eat peanut butter to train myself to enjoy it again. Results are mixed. I can eat peanut butter now but it still tastes sort of funky. Trying to convince my body this is how it always tasted.

My sister had Covid and some things still taste different to her. She still can’t eat fish because the taste makes her gag.

Covid apparently ruined bananas for me. I've loved them for 25+ years, always taken them to work/college/etc for lunches, now they just taste and feel like congealed snot. :(

No :^( I can only drink one kind of juice now and I get so pissed off when my family drinks my flavor because they have plenty of others to choose from, but I can only stand the one.

It took three years, but eventually it just came back by itself for me.

I had my suspensions of my undead status. Good to have it confirmed, definitely will resume the same daily routine I had while alive.

Yes, the system in the US where companies can under-pay wait staff and then customers are expected to tip 20% or more to supplement their wages is problematic. Just not tipping is not the solution. Wait staff are not the problem. Don't be an asshole.

Got into an argument with a bunch of people on Facebook with a bunch of people who don't "believe" in tipping and are totally comfortable with saying they don't tip ever.

My older coworkers refuse to accept virtually signed invoices. So once a week I have to go on just to sign shit since virtual signatures are too scary.

I am annoyed that this is being reported by some news outlets as a sure thing. The sample size is too low, and this press release is honestly kinda sketchy.

What media did your older siblings, parents, relatives get you hooked on? Any you hated because of them?

My dad got me into scifi/fantasy in the first place. He used to read the Hobbit, Heinlein juveniles, and other age-appropriate nerdy things to me as a kid (my sister too at first, but she lost interest). Star Wars and Star Trek. And then Stargate: SG1. He was more into hard scifi than I while I was more into fantasy, but we shared so many things in common.
