I don't use TV Tropes because I don't trust the judgment of the contributors. But I get the sentiment. I enjoy getting into a fandom after its heyday and deciding for myself whether the main ships are worth it or not.

I have such a bitterness about TV Tropes lingering from the early days. (There was so much drama about it and it seemed like the worst BNFs contributed and promoted it.) Which is funny because I didn't even realize that bias was there until I read your secret!

Okay I'm genuinely confused here because I've actually shifted to watching 95% anime/Asian media these days BECAUSE Asian stuff actually knows how to end stories and wrap things up whereas Western media will keep dragging a show out even when it should have ended two seasons ago.

It's a cultural thing. The ending of an anime/manga/dorama is in most times obvious to the Japanese viewer. An American needs a meaning of something hammered down as obviously as possible.

As a long-time follower of the Molyneux sisters, I'm not too worried about them being so tone-deaf as to make the two characters endgame. They're too diligent about emotional realism.

See: how they pulled Moon back from what was apparently the same set-up with Debbie and pivoted to Quinn instead.

I think the fandom is what kept me from getting into the show. I tried to watch a few years ago because I should really love it but I kept thinking of how the fandom wank spilled out into every other fandom at the time. For YEARS.
